Who wins a playoff game first?

Dorsey/Haley?
Reid/Mahomies?
Nagy/half our old front office?

Seems like Haley has always had a few screws loose but his recent behavior points to a meltdown coming, bar patrons in Cleveland best have their dukes up if they see him and his wife taking shots.
But when Hue gets the boot Haley gets the second HC shot no one thought he'd get...

They've been doing that for years. And they've been burned by not just taking what falls to them. They should draft a qb and saquon Barkley. If they do that and re-sign Gordon, that offense is already a qb away from being very good. Alex Smith would actually be an excellent fit in a Todd Haley offense so you finish the deal by reading for him.

Haley is also a good fit for Alex.

Alex executes well, but doesn't improvise.
Haley wants a QB who executes his scheme, not a cowboy.
For Haley, the 'cowboy' is baked into the scheme.
Haley tried his best to make chicken salad out of Cassel, who doesn't do anything well.
Too bad the timing wasn't better to get Alex here under Haley, instead of Reid.
Reid also wants someone to execute his scheme, but his scheme turns to shit when his butt puckers somewhere late in the 2nd quarter, and he switches to trying to limp to the finish line.

Yikes.

Either they achieve some success and he looks like a damned hero or it goes very very wrong. Which would be normal.

A good part of me wonders if we're going to be cursing the sky about Dorsey and Cleveland the way we now are about Pederson and Philadelphia while we are stuck with Reid.

What would the cherry on top be? They win a playoff game with Tyler Bray next year?

Huge cap space and 5 picks in the first two rounds along with Josh Gordon who is committing long term -> YUGE potential

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Mahomes is better for Reid, Alex is better for Haley.

I don't think Alex or Haley can take the team over the top. I don't love Haley's playcalling and think he's too conservative, and Haley won't challenge Alex on the checkdowns. But Cleveland isn't shooting for Super Bowls, they just want a competitive team and a playoff berth, and they would turn that team into a competitor overnight.
