To clarify, I think the system of just having the ups and downs on the posts is unobtrusive enough that we just leave it. It's not distracting, so those who don't care can just ignore it.
The rep thing, though, is a lot more visible and impossible to ignore (unless you ignore your rep entirely). I'm generally leaning toward ditching the rep thing, but just curious what others think. |

I had one user downvote about 22 posts, which knocked all of my legit rep off the first page.

All of the posts I downvoted from you were in the Royals thread and they were all dumb as ****. Everyone of them had already been downvoted at least 5 times by other posters. |

Did you really think I wouldn’t hit you back? Do you know DaneMcCloud? And you’re all ****ing homers that will be bowing to the ring after the Royals lose 100. |

The funny thing is I wouldn’t have even thought about down voting the posts if I hadn’t noticed a bunch of them grayed out. I’m fine with the retaliation because I really give zero ****s about rep, but JFC dude that had to be a lot of work.

Rep thing does clutter up your rep page. I'd say get rid of it. One counterpoint however is that more people started using the Thumbs up/down as soon as they noticed it left a "rep".

OK, no one has come out strongly in favor of keeping it, so the rep integration is now off. You can still upvote/downvote, and I'll see if there's any way of making the built-in page suck less.

Yeah, it can quickly clutter up the rep page... not ideal, at all
Also, while thumbs up/down seems to be catching on, thats no reason to ditch regular rep... the personal messages that come with rep are what makes it cool |
