*.* NEW- 2014 General Fitness Thread *.*
I guess we filled up the old one... http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=280149
Welcome to 2014! Now get your ass in top physical condition! No one else started it so here it is! **From the 2013 Thread** If you want to get back into lifting, or need a new lifting routine, START HERE: http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wi...inner_Programs If you have questions about the SS programs, look here: http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ Keep in mind that you're a novice lifter for a longer period of time than you think you are. Novice lifting can last anywhere from a few months to a year or two, depending on how hard you hit the weights and where you started. Once you've reached the point where you don't make regular progress on the SS program, you are ready to move on to the intermediate stage, which can last you for a good number of years. Find it HERE: http://madcow.hostzi.com/5x5_Program/Linear_5x5.htm If you're a very advanced lifter (many, many years of CONSISTENT weight training), then there are lot of programs out there, and which one you pick is simply a matter of preference. If you're really that advanced, you should know what works for you and what doesn't by this point. |

Good work brothers.
I never counted calories when I lost 60 lbs. I weighed 235 back in December and I'm sitting around 175 now. I usually keep my carb intake fairly low. It was really low when I was losing weight. I workout 3-4 days a week. I now try to keep my weight around 175-180. I will say my belly fat/loose skin drives me nuts. |

I'm becoming a skinny ****er and have got to get back to lifting some heavy weights. Too many workouts currently looking like this shit thanks to these ****ing group fitness classes (which are like CrossFit in disguise):
150 kettlebell swings 200M run 4 rounds: 20 TRX Row 20 burpee box overs 20 Overhead Plate lunges finish with: 100 thrusters 200M run Stuff is brutal, and I really hate high rep exercises. But getting to start the day with a workout with my wife in the morning is worth it. I've just got to fit in 1 day of heavy deads or something a week. I still fast pretty regularly (at least 3 days a week). We've also cut out booze on week nights and are eating pretty healthy by cooking at home every night (despite our kids' insane schedules). Weekends are still cheat city, though.

Oh... they work in the plank jacks and squat jacks every now and then... don't worry.

Oh yeah, I'm also mountain biking non stop with my youngest, so logging quite a bit of cardio with that, too. Like I said... I need to lift heavy. Looking like an eff'ing endurance athlete these days instead of a sprinter.

Changed some things up last week. Started intermittent fasting and cutting. I eat 1800-2000 calories per day, all between 7am-3pm, then I don’t consume one more calorie until the next morning. Still lifting and doing HIIT cardio in the morning, then my wife and I walk four miles in the evening. So far, I’m down four pounds of fat and already starting to look a little more cut. Very happy at the moment.

I do the same , most days I don't even eat breakfast or lunch and just have dinner. I like the hungry feeling and I always keep those 1.5 oz bags of almonds in my truck for emergency energy. Been trying to do at least 1 day a week of total fasting which gets me about a 36 hour window between meals.

I drink Premier Protein shakes for breakfast a couple times a week. 30 grams of protein and three carbs. Keeps me full until lunch and only costs $2. They taste pretty good.

Those are pretty good. And my first calories of the day at noon are usually a low carb protein bar like a Quest bar. I workout about 2 hours later. After workout scoop of whey in milk. I then get most of my calories from a huge dinner and a meal 1-2 hours after. Getting most of my calories late at night....oh the horror!!!!
