Per Terez, Marcus Peters' tirade was directed at... Bob Sutton

Now I am happy so far to have been proven wrong about Peters -- I advocated against drafting him because he got kicked off his college team basically for doing exactly this.

I didn't count on him being as good as he's been, and I didn't count on the unbelievable strength of the Chiefs locker room to rein him in.

Welp, folks.

Not exactly a coincidence that we lose Eric Berry early and now Peters is on a countdown to suspension, am I wrong?

All I see are the same posters that constantly are shook getting shook continuously. They're the same group that says shit like u r a snowflake lmbo but are constantly the most shaken up posters regularly.

It's amusing and like clockwork on a regular basis. The CP edition of saying umad over and over while being quite angry.

Who isn't handling it?

The guys a hot head. He's always been a hothead. Nothing that's happened in the field has really changed this year from the past. It's the same guy that punted a ball into the stands after a fumble recovery.

Where you as critical then?

It's comical you can't admit your hatred of him is largely due to him not standing for the flag.

Seriously though, the guy is not especially good against the deep ball and he struggles with short-area quickness, especially around the goal line. Odd given he's pretty adept against crossing routes. It could be a mental aspect, I don't know. He seems to lose track of his man at times and have lapses like he did today when Hopkins got the TD in the back of the end zone. You can get completions against him and you can get in his head a bit when you do. The big reason teams shy away from him is he's pretty ****ing good at baiting QBs into picks on shorter stuff, especially when he knows he has help over the top (but he does have a tendency to rely on that help a bit much). Teams are scared of turnovers. If I'm an NFL team, I'm trying to match up my fastest receiver on him all game and I'm going to test him deep often. Goal line area, I'm putting my quickest receiver on him to create that immediate separation. Peters is does not have elite quickness nor speed.

And I'm quite sure I know the reason that Sutton doesn't use him to chase, and it isn't his pass coverage ability. He's an atrocious run defender. You can't have him and Ford lining up on the same side of the field very often or teams will exploit that edge.

I'm not saying at all that he isn't a good corner, he is. He just has weaknesses and teams are scared to exploit them because of his strengths. All the better for the Chiefs, but the more days like the last couple weeks happen, the more teams will try to attack those weaknesses.

It was. Parker didn’t do a good job of getting around on the ball. But that’s Peters fault because he didn’t stand for the flag.

Peters is a great player presently playing average (at best) football.

That said, I'm getting pretty tired of the 'he's a passionate player' or 'he's a competitor' excuses.

So Justin Houston isn't a competitor? Eric Berry, Derrick Johnson? Those guys aren't passionate players?

Passion and competitive spirit has nothing to do with this. This team has a ton of passionate players who aren't gigantic red asses like Marcus Peters. And with Peters it isn't passion as much as it's a damn temper tantrum.

He isn't going out there defending his teammates in scrums. He isn't going out there and rallying guys to play hard. No - he's waiting until he plays poorly (and it really surfaced first and most obviously in the Chargers game last year when Allen was fitting him for clown shoes) and then throwing a bitch fit.

It's 'mememe' shit and that's it. When he's not playing well, he lashes out. That's the difference between him and Brady. That's the difference between him and Houston. Brady lashes out when he's trying to rally teammates. When Houston's playing poorly he doubles down and tries to focus more. And when Houston's out there on the field (or Berry or DJ) he's trying to keep his teammates focused and provide genuine leadership.

Peters, OTOH, is being selfish and self-centered. His fits all start with him not playing well and then he goes out there and tries to self-immolate because of it. That's irritating as hell to me. When you're not playing well, you don't go firing off at anyone that's in your vicinity. You don't go blaming officials or coaches when you're having a poor game.

Whatever 'passion' he possesses tends to be inwardly focused and that's not productive. Whatever 'competitive fire' he's throwing around when he's yelling at the staff is just poorly focused blind rage that isn't helping anyone.

It's not blasphemy to point this out. The guy needs to get this shit figured out - it isn't something to be dismissive of. And it isn't going to get better when he's getting paid or when DJ/Hali are gone and he's seen as an emotional leader rather than just a very good player.
