If I had to guess, I don't think the Patriots will sign him. He's been bouncing from team to team because nobody is offering him what he thinks he's worth. And the Patriots, even with all that ****ing cash, will never overspend when the perceived market is for a player. Thus, Hodges will continue searching for a new team.

Bills signed LB Gerald Hodges to a one-year contract.
Hodges started 12 games for the 49ers in 2016 and was their best run defender. Despite being in the prime of his career and coming off of a good season, it took a lot of visits for Hodges to finally find a home. The Bills are getting a quality player, likely at a good value. |

You realize that's mainly dueto scheme right. You aren't stopping the run with 6 ****ing DBs on the field most of the time

Yeah but they still would have run that 2-4-5 abortion which gives the opponent an edge in the ground game. It's obvious Sutton sacrifices rushing yards to limit the passing game...limiting points. It definitely works. Nobody would care if Bell gets 180 the team had ANY offense. It's obvious we commit to stopping the passing attack which is smart in today's NFL.

You most certainly can stop the run with 6 db's on the field. It all comes down to gap assignment. If a nickel look has 6 dudes in the box, and the offense has 6 blockers, your asking your DL + LB to play double gaps. Bringing someone down lessens the burden on them, but leaves less help up top.

We also had 2 DL on IR and one a shell of a shell of his former self. It's not the ILBs fault. They're not great or anything but they're better than what it looked like last year.
