What's the worst job you ever had?

Mine was hauling small square bales of hay. It is hot, often over 100 degrees in the barn. You have to wear a long sleeved shirt or your arms will get bloodied. And it is damn hard work. Bales of alfalfa can weigh up to 90 pounds. No way I could do it today.

Nothing worse than wearing thick rubber suits and using steam hoses to clean the equipment. The water was literally half steam and hot ****ing water. The safety glasses would fog up nonstop and you'd be drenched in sweat and water. Then the female supervisor I had who was a feminist would be the pickiest little bitch. Not to mention just because I'm a guy she assumed I could lift anything. Moving tons of seasoning by hand wasn't fun either. $10.50 part time here in Cali is basically free labor.

I worked for a grocery store as a punk 16 year old kid. They called it "maintenance". I would push carts, sort cans that people brought into recycle, face shelves, clean the bathrooms. That part actually wasn't too bad, but we had to clean this grease trap about once every two weeks. The "grease trap" was back near the bakery and meat department, and that is where all the gobbly goop and excess animal fat, bakery grease, etc would be stored until it was taken out in waste. I still recall the stench to this day. At least 3 of my associates yaked while trying to do it. Then we had to get a shop vac and suck up the excess. It was horrible.

Collections for a nationwide used car dealership. It sucks knowing your company sold lemons to people with bad credit now you gotta be the guy who calls and asks for their regular bi weekly payment. Bonuses were great but I spent my days off isolating myself in my room because I didn't want to deal with people.

Bucket man in a precast concrete factory.

In the 95 degree humid Midwest summer, filling 5-gal buckets with wet sand. 24 to a pallet and 4 pallets for a full batch of concrete.
By the end of the day, my jeans were coated with so much salt they were stiff.
Def a young man's job; I wouldn't even consider it now.

Why does hard work automatically become working for the man being their dog?

There are several people on CP that do flooring for a living, and own their own business. That shit is hard work in my opinion.

I have a friend who owns his own plumbing business, that's a rough job.

Farming is hard work and you are your own boss.

Owning a business is hard work, sometimes being the man is the worst part of the work.

So, don't think he's referring to people that own their own business at all.

Sorry I'm OCD and don't clarify myself initially. There's absolutely nothing wrong with hard work, I highly respect those that have the stamina and mental strength to do it for years. Hard work in ANY FASHION is GOOD for the soul. I'm talking about blood suckers, you're just a number, you make no difference, slaving for pennies on the dollar. The workers that are habitually depressed at their place because it's miserable from every aspect. I don't believe in letting that control your life. Personal responsibility is key and work ethic too of course, in talking about bad situations people leave themselves in

Christmas tree harvesting

I was the one walking through the tree farm bundling the wet trees for the helicopter to pick up. Job started at 7:30AM to dark thirty with a fifteen minute lunch break. Mind you this Oregon in October/November so it was always raining and temp averaged around 30 to 40 degrees. When the helicopter wasn't up and running we were throwing the tree's individually in the same size truck..wet miserable job @$7.50 an hour and living in Corvallis Oregon wasn't cheap my any means.

I will say the lumber mill at a close second...

For some reason, I have absolutely no pity for people who cannot control their finances and pay their bills.

I guess I kind of get people who don't pay businesses back and their bills, but if you **** over a buddy, acquaintance or single individual. There is a special place in hell for those people.

I think more people should be buried in the desert if they owe debt to people. If you owe someone a large sum of money, and you get found in a ditch. I really don't even have any pity for you.
