They were one of those bands that were even better live than in a studio. Not many bands are like that, IMO. Seeing his recent pics he looks much like Layne Staley did before he died.

I was just talking yesterday about wanting to see him live.
Damn. He was one of the best to come out of the early 90's/Grunge era...

Dammit!! The universe's grudge against grunge continues:
Cobain, Staley, Weiland, and now Cornell. RIP to an incredible talent

That is crazy.
I saw him on the Songbook tour he did a few years ago. (The resulting live album is worth a listen) It was just him by himself on the stage with a bunch of acoustic guitars (and a record player he used for the piano on When I'm Down). One of the better shows I have seen. Enjoyed his solo stuff a lot, very sorry to hear of his passing. |

The Skid guys were dicks except for Bas. He was awesome to the fans. At one point it was Chris, me and Bas standing there having a beer. I was just soaking up the conversation. They were both very funny and had some great stories. Very sad to hear Chris has passed. He had so much music left in him. Was planning to see them this tour. RIP my friend. |

I used to watch Skid Row practice in Toms River where I grew up before they become a real thing. Rachel Bolan and my next door neighbor were good friends and would take me along occasionally.
