We need an in line blocking TE, ie. a sixth lineman to help the running game. We have enough pass catching TE's. I'm really surpised they didn't draft Butte or Kittle.

Ran the slowest 40 at the combine @ 6'4" 325. but who needs to run 40 yds from the OL anyways, right?

Damien Mama is a nice pickup. I've seen guys say he's a potential starter down the road.

He could be if properly motivated. When he is on, he is a monster, especially in the run game. But when he isn't, he's penalty-prone, and doesn't finish plays. Needs to watch his weight. I heard he was upwards of 360+ at times.

Love the WR signings. Wilson and Conley aren't good enough and I think Hill will continue to be a role player.
I really like Damien Mama, Guard, USC. I took him in the 4th in my mock. I'm really surprised he didn't get drafted. |

Marcus Kemp! Sweet. He's a play maker. Didn't get tons of chances since he played mostly during years with our worst QB play in recent history but he made plays when given opportunities

Overview The Los Angeles metro area native was everybody's High School All-American on the offensive line, and kept his talents in town by signing with the Trojans. Mama became one of the first duo of true freshman starters in a Trojans' season opener with Toa Lobendahn, starting four games that season (two at left guard, two at right guard). He was a 2015 honorable mention All-Pac-12 pick at left guard after starting 13 of 14 games played, and won that starting job again in 12 of 13 games in 2016, earning second-team all-conference recognition by league coaches. Big boy with NFL frame. Good posture in his pass sets with hands in punch-ready position in front of his chest, knees bent and back flat. Punch is as stiff as a boxing jab. Uncorks hands early and lands with force behind maximum arm extension. Anchors against bull rushers with adequate knee-bend and can slow their charge. Has dropped about 75 pounds since coming to USC. With less weight has come more lateral quickness to reach and sustain in space. Skip-pull steps are clean and is able to work long and short pulls. Adequate radar in space to find and make second-level blocks. Weaknesses Was stuck in a battle for starting position to open season due to lack of accountability and consistency. Has too much bad weight around his midsection. Formerly 400 pounds so weight will have to be monitored carefully. Narrow base causes limited power zone and marginal contact balance. Allows angle blocks to slide out the side door too easily. When block gets off track, body control diminishes greatly. Below average redirect inside and recovery balance. Right-hand punch becomes predictable and can be countered for quick wins. Draft Projection Round 5 NFL Comparison Bobby Hart Bottom Line Power-based guard who can generate movement off the ball, but lacks the balance and bend to be a consistent block sustainer. Smart defenders started to time up Mama's punch in pass protection, so he will need to vary his approach, but he does have the heavy hands and sturdy base to combat bull-rushers and set a shallow anchor. Could start his career as a backup, but has the size and ability to become eventual starter.
