I pretty sure that some guys around here literally jack off whenever someone says something negative about Alex Smith.

It's the strangest thing.

I think that team was 1 play away from the super bowl.

He squandered top 5 defenses and top 10 running games in 2014 and 2015.

Talking about the chiefs d in the last few playoff losses as 'elite' is assinine.

Last year everyone squawks about 18 points given up, ignoring DOZENS of times the Steelers marched from 20 to 20 like a knife through butter, only to have Rapist throw up some shitty passes in the red zone and stall them.

It's like seeing Harambe drag that kid around and label the kid elite because Harambe 'only' broke his neck and killed hm.

I don't mind impatience at Alex's conservatism, or a drive to move on. But to pretend we're a juggernaut hampered solely by a singularly bad QB is reeruned.

Want to impress me, get off the QB obsession and figure out why the ENTIRE TEAM failed to show up last January in Arrowhead. Figure out why the Patriots can play like the Chiefs for 3 Quarters in the SB, then flip the switch IN ALL PHASES, getting stops, TOs and clutch catches to go with their clutch QB.

And then you have those that beat off to hidden touchdowns and 1-3 playoff records.

The 2011 49ers had a historically elite defense and gave up 32 to the Saints. Shit happens, even with elite defenses.

Said defense was the only reason Smith made the playoffs.

It's a fact that Alex Smith has had elite defenses two of his four years in KC and squandered them.

One year he didn't even get TO the playoffs.

The other year, after that defense delivered a playoff shutout in the first week, he twiddled his thumbs for a half against the Pats the next, dooming the team.

**** Alex Smith and your Alexcuses.

Alex Smith is THE reason people think giving up 21 points is a death knell for this team.

You'd think it was 19****ing65 out there.

To learn something about football.

C'mon man, it's clearly express and highlighted hyperbole to emphasize a clear but important, and somehow still overlooked point. The Steelers marched at will all day long until the OC called upon their inexplicably even more inept QB to pass in the RedZone. Our defense didn't stop shit, and the opposition went NEARLY the length of the field, enough for 6 easy FGs, all day.

There's no winning on this board. If I outline my arguments in detail, I'm too pedantic. If I adopt a conversational style, I get dinged for 'details' that are tongue in cheek. If I overexplain, I'm being condescending. If I assume others know the details, I'm accused of being ignorant. No one ever actually rebuts my point, they just bitch about my style.
