FWIW, I know his cousin, and also one of his close friends down here in Austin.

They are clearly biased, but claim he's doing really well. In good spirits, plans on coming back strong.

We'll see.

He'll be lucky to get back to the level of his 2016 performance, which was slipping with every subsequent week.

He'll be 35 soon, with two Achilles tears. That's impossible to overcome without losing another step at his age.

If he's healthy, he's a 2 down 'backer at best at this point in time.

Great, we still need to be trying to replace him.

It's one of the main things we need to accomplish this offseason is an upgrade at both ILBs.

Defense is just not going to be dominant until we do.


Hali and DJ are studs who are beloved by Chiefs Nation but both need to be replaced.

If we would have signed Dwight Freeney our season might have ended differently.

He did it last time. Why do you doubt his physical ability when he proved it before? I get the whole "many do not return" argument. But many are not elite like DJ who proved it before. Oh and the whole "lost 2 steps" crap argument, maybe if our d-line wasn't so marginal with injuries/poor run defense between the 20's DJ would have made more plays. DJ has always been in phenomenal shape and coaches have been impressed that he has barely lost anything.
