That's nonsense. Throwing your bat at a pitch that totally fools you only to have an excuse me single is not earned; it's fortuitous. Teams that win close games one year invariably lose those same games the following year because it's not repeatable.

I know it's nice to spin yourself a narrative, but it doesn't square with reality.

Yes, Denver had a lucky win in New Orleans that should not have counted, but winning close games by improbable sequences of luck is not a skill, and you cannot count on defensive and ST returns to win you games. It's not sustainable.
Totally agree.

You can't give up 300 yards in the air every week along with 100+ on the ground, commit lots of penalties, and count on defensive touchdowns every week.

It's fun right now, but barring some major improvement on either side of the ball, this is a wild-card-win at best type of team I am afraid.

Where is Oak at...????

Kaepernick played 3 quarters and only had 4 yards passing. That's not a typo. Four. Yards.

All of this is true.

What's encouraging is that Andy finally went for the throat in this game. If he punts on 4th and 1, we would have never been in a position to win it with the INT return.

I would agree with this, although Smith missing the wide open Ware was a bad, bad play.

Still, the offense scored 0 points in the second half.....not going to have post season success doing that.

Just keep in mind that the Falcons defense is their weakness....and they just lost their #1 CB this week. Damn good win though.

The AFC is pretty wide open this year, if we don't run into the Steelers, this team has as good of a chance as any to make it to the SB.

No. The Chiefs have a good record. They are in a pack with pretty much every other team in the AFC and their record is inflated by luck in close games.

You can enjoy the success, but don't conflate it with skill, because you're setting yourself up for a huge disappointment.

I understand where you're coming from Hamas, but 20-4 suggests that it just might be sustainable for awhile. That's a pretty strong record over a LONG time. There's more going on here than just being lucky. Good coaching, good players, a good GM that is able to find guys who can play, excellent team chemistry.....and of course, some very good mojo too!!!

But, I'd agree that's it really is hard to categorize this team.....other than saying that it exhibits an excellent amount of "teamness".
