I'm not much of a coffee guy, but I'll occasionally pick up a cold brew to jazz up an average stout beer.

Cold Brew Coffee.
Cold brew is fantastic. It's the only coffee I drink anymore. Converted the wife, too. Glad you liked it.

I work outside all day in the heat, but I still like to drink hot coffee when I'm out in it. I don't know if hot coffee helps me handle the heat or not, though. Just seems like I've gotten used to it over the years. I tried cold brew coffee once at Whole Foods, but I ended up taking it home and heating it up because creamer didn't seem to want to mix as well with it when it was cold.

By "cold brew" do you mean coffee that is served cold or is this some special type of way to brew coffee?

You actually brew it cold. Coarse ground beans soaked in cold water for a while. Then you press it or strain it. It tastes smoother and has more caffeine.

I think it actually has less caffeine. But smoother, definitely. I use 1 gallon of water and 8 oz. of coarse coffee. Steeped for about 12 hours in the fridge. |

Mostly depends on volumes in the cold brew process I believe, but here is an interesting article on it: http://www.scaa.org/chronicle/2015/0...ith-cold-brew/ |
