Since you are having multiple electronic issues I would be googling where your grounds are located and be rechecking those for proper connectivity.

Hmm well with my pickup the needle for my gas gauge would twitch around when I turned the signal on. I was having troubles with my cruise not working correctly all the time. It would work for a while and then just quit working. All my issues turned out to be due to a faulty ground connection.

They have instrument cluster ground problems. If he had said that's what he was driving I would agree with you but even on yours I would say it's the sender if it just dropped to empty at a certain level.
It it's ticking in time with the flasher something is back feeding which points to a ground issue. I would say that the cruise quit when you used something else also. |
