PFF Defensive Rookie of the Year announced
Ronald Darby. Should be a great corner for years to come. Leonard Williams was runner up, followed by Byron Jones.
http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/b...illiams-011416 The Buffalo Bills were one of few teams without a first-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, but they still managed to nab one of the most impactful rookie classes. Their top pick (second round), Ronald Darby, has quickly emerged as one of the best young cornerbacks in the league, while Karlos Williams is a capable back behind LeSean McCoy. Darby had an impressive rookie campaign, pulling down two interceptions and recording 21 passes defensed -- good for fifth in the league. He's considered one of the top candidates to win Defensive Rookie of the Year, but fellow cornerback Marcus Peters could take that honor. However, according to Pro Football Focus, Darby is the league's top defensive rookie and was named the Defensive Rookie of the Year by the site. The first runner-up is New York Jets defensive lineman Leonard Williams, who recorded three sacks and 63 tackles to go along with 30 quarterback hurries, according to PFF. Dallas Cowboys defensive back Byron Jones was the second runner-up, followed by Peters and Adrian Amos. This is the second award the Bills have won from PFF, with Tyrod Taylor winning Breakout Player of the Year. |

Peters is kind of boom or bust since he takes a lot of risks. I can see how his PFF ratings are lower

I heard this guy on the radio, he basically argued that Peters got beat a ton had the most passes thrown on him. His second half improvement had more to do with bad QB's and them just not connecting than him improving. All his picks except 1 were against shitty Qb's.
It was pretty comical to listen to, in the end I think it was basically when you are thrown on more than any other CB obviously the league is saying he sucks, was the reasoning. |

Sometimes I think PFF deliberately creates controversy in order to get attention. This reminds me of the game earlier this year where Aaron Rodgers passed for 333 yards with 5 touchdowns and no intercetions against the Chiefs, and the dumbasses at PFF gave him a negative grade.
https://www.profootballfocus.com/blo...egative-grade/ It's obvious that PFF's ratings are intended to look like they are based upon statistical analysis, when in fact they are simply the subjective opinions of a couple of douchebags. I don't know why anybody bothers reading that site. |

Pretty sure they gave it to Darby because of his 660 yds and 4 TDs surrendered vs Peters 923 yds and 7 TDs (albeit all the TDs came in the first 6 games). Also, Peters was thrown at 132 times in 15 games, 28 times more than the next corner. Darby was thrown at 105 times (5th most targeted), and his 660 yards allowed were the fewest among the 10 most targeted cornerbacks.

My biggest issue with trying to use stats for positions like CB is that the people watching film do not know the play that was called. There are plenty of times ive seen CB's burned, only to find out later they were suppose to play under and a safety was out of position and did not get to the over and it makes the CB look really bad.
Both are good CB's though and I would assume the Bills fans would not trade him for Peters like we would not make the trade back. Peters is getting enough due in the media so I am not worried. |

They're both very good CBs, but I can see why they gave it to Darby.

Yeah, Darby has been stout. Give that to him.
But Peters deserves it, honestly. |

PFF is bad EVERY day.
Anyone who claims otherwise is as stupid as PFF.
