Toronto Bluejays

Okay.

This team defines what a good team is. Did you see that folks? The Jays went into Yankee stadium and spanked them 6-0.

I'm feeling awfully good right now....And you know what? I'm gonna feel even better when they go for the sweep tomorrow. I'm feeling high fellas from winning. Now I could see how you guys felt last year when you went on that winning skid and came within a game of winning the World Series. That's just an awfully good feeling, eh? I empathize with you. I know I will this year

You know what's interesting guys? When a lot of critics, like yourselves, heh say we have pitching issues but guess what? Since the all-star break, the Toronto Bluejays have a 14-6 record with team 2.71 Era which is best in the majors.

Fellas, I can't help myself but when you're this good, all I gotta say is:

JUST.

BRING.

IT.

That's one of the only times where you play for one run.
That is small ball and a good strategy but I wonder if it crossed their minds at all due to their offensive philosophy. Teams like the Blue Jays, Astros, and Cubs live and die via the long ball. With that they don't seem to resort to small ball much even when doing so is a more prudent move.

Jays fan here but no, I'm not one to come on to a KC chat board to rip on the home team. I actually don't mind the Royals and I'm rooting for them to close out the Mets.
As for Alex A. I'm surprised to hear this. I listened to his closing presser and I didn't get the sense that he was even considering walking out the door. He was talking about free agents and potential trades, even about keeping some of the FA's on the team. Maybe he and new team president, Mark Shapiro don't see eye to eye.

I think your last sentence is correct. Perhaps Shapiro wants to hire "his guy."

According to the Jays writers, in his first meeting Shapiro, AA was scolded for trading away too many prospects. That would seem consistent with how he built the Indians. That's not going to play well in Toronto I imagine.

It's just a birthday month. We all have them.

Twitterbitch's birthday year is pretty crazy though. You think you get tired of celebrating every day when you know you've got another one coming up.
