I never think like this. With this team some guys go to sleep and then suddenly wake up when needed the most. Maybe it'll be Ken's turn, or maybe that happens on Friday. Either way, they'll be okay.

Yeah, if he leaves, we have this to deal with !

Julianna Zobrist is due to give birth to the couple's third child pretty much any day now. There is no paternity list in the postseason -- the Royals would have to play with a 24-man roster if Zobrist misses any games to be with his wife.
So if Eddy leaves for a funeral, is it the same, we pitch with less pitchers ?

Andy McCullough from KC Star retweeted it prior to first pitch. This was broadly known prior to the game. That doesn't mean Volquez knew.

I don't know when that tweet happened but I knew about it around 3pm PST.

Regardless, my sincerest condolences go out to Edinson and his family.

Back at the hotel.

I thought the Esky lead off inside the park homer was the craziest play I'd seen live in a baseball game, until I saw the Cain bunt at bat that made me question my devotion as a fan, and then the Gordo 9th inning shot topped them all.

What a ****ing game.
