Alex Smith specifically said he wouldn't settle for any contract lower than Kaepernick or Dalton. He strung the Chiefs along for a long time to work out a deal that ended up getting him a lot of money. I don't blame Alex for doing that because everybody tries to get more money for themselves. But I can't believe your homerism for this guy is so strong that you actually think any of this is true.

Alex wanted to start. He very strongly negotiated with KC to get much more money than what they were offering. I don't blame him for that. But it proves you're ridiculous.

He will either gut-check this and get back on track.. finding the desire.. or KC will have no choice but to eat the dead money and part ways. Honestly, I don't know which is more likely at this point.

We have major concerns about the depth at secondary. We sure could've used Brandon Flowers right about now.

Who did we cut him for? Hmmm, his name escapes me.

Get ****ed. The Chiefs have put a good team around him.

If alex wasn't a goddamn coward who needs guys to be open by two steps before he throws the ball, and if he was able to anticipate AT ALL, this offense would be much better.

His cowardice allows opponents to stack the box and be very aggressive in the short area of the field, while not having to worry about defending anything deep with more than man coverage, because your golden boy is too much of a check down-throwing coward to hit deep shots on the rare occasions he attempts them.

I can't believe fans are still bitching about the OL after watching Rodgers rape us with two of the worst OTs starting for him Monday night.

The Chiefs OL isn't great, maybe not even good, but it's certainly good enough for the offense to function at a far greater level than it currently is.

Alex did, does and will always make offensive lines worse.

Then he should do the decent thing and tell the team this. Preferably in the media, so nobody ever mistakes him for a man with a pair of testicles in the future.

See, these players have someone called... follow with me here... AN AGENT.

They trust their agent to do... follow along... their job.. and secure the best contract they can.

The Chiefs went and got him Jeremy goddamn Maclin, and he didn't even target him for almost THREE QUARTERS Monday night.

Alex squanders the resources the Chiefs give him.

The 2013 line was miles ahead of the 2014 and 2015 line and he still did the same things he's doing now.

I am saying to you that IF he is mentally checked out from giving his best? then yes. He needs to put a bow on his football career and move on to other things.

For most of the summer, Smith and the Chiefs were far apart. You said he took what they offered. Bullshit. Alex Smith was demanding $18M and the price was negotiated up. That's what agents do, yes. But spare the bullshit. If Smith didn't care about money, he wouldn't have driven a hardline to drive his price up. If he was "set for life" then he also wouldn't have negotiated a long-term contract with the Chiefs vs. negotiating against a "pay as you go" contract as Dalton/Kaepernick got. Just admit that your premise is full of shit.

Why should the Chiefs cut him? You said Alex Smith doesn't care about money. If he doesn't care about money, then if he needs to quit on the team, he should retire and forfeit some of his bonus.

I think the premise that he's not performing because he' quitting is full of shit too. Just following your twisted logic.
