Per the discussions earlier this week, I wanted to offer an experimental concept. During the preseason, let's discuss each of the units on the Chiefs in a particular thread.

Post your thoughts during the games or between games about individual performances.

This thread is for offensive linemen. How they doin'?

The Chiefs OL showed me good play against the Cardinals.

Then they lost both tackles and went up against one of the best front 7s in the NFL for an entire half.

You THINK the Chiefs showed you what their OL really was about, but it's an outlier situation of what they'll ACTUALLY be facing this year.

Because again... Fanaika is going to be far away from this team, and LDT will be a backup. The right side is going to be adequate, and we'll probably see positive play from the left side.

Jesus, I'm clearly all for bringing in Mathis but what in the shit.

To clarify, the guarantees are reportedly in ballpark of $20 mil, not contract.

Unless that's a 7 year deal in which we plan to cut him after 2 with minimal cap hit, that estimation needs to die in a car fire right now.

That makes sense. The injuries and playing a game without regular-season-preparation certainly did not help the line.

Far from the end of the world. They did give Alex a nice pocket when he hit Kelce for that big gain. This will not be the starting line, but they are capable of getting some plays right.

I think the oline sucks as much as the next guy but 20 million to one guy definitely isnt going to save the oline/fix everything.
