I love the Royals and all but at the same time, If this team really wins 100 games (or the Cards do) then MLB has a serious talent issue because we're not a great team.

The Royals have good hitting through most of the lineup and bunch hits together to score runs. The bullpen is excellent. This means MLB has "a serious talent issue." Moron.

The Royals ARE a great team.

Are they one of the most talented teams in the last 15 years? No, but great 'talent' doesn't always win baseball games consistently. Talent is nice to have, but I'd rather have a group of players that know their roles, no how to play them, and excel at them.

The Royals do that better than any team in MLB, in my opinion.

Those are the kind of teams that win championships.

How pathetic would it be to watch the Royals your whole life - and when they finally get to the point of being an awesome team and really, really enjoyable to watch night in, night out - you DVR the games and fast forward through sections, or just plain don't watch them because you can't stand that 'x happened'?

What a miserable existence that would be.

I wanted to go to bed last night before the game was done. Something like the 7th inning I was ready to call it quits. Then I thought, you may never get to see a Royals team this good again your whole life. Now that's being a bit dramatic, but this could be the peak of my fandom. So I stayed up and watched the Royals win. And it was worth it.

Just seems hard to imagine a team winning it all with 2 of the worst regulars in MLB starting. Hopefully one is gone by Oct. Maybe we make teams look ugly but our opponents look so feeble compared to what I've seen most years.

I picked the same record.. but I expected Detroit and Cleveland finish with 85+ wins and be within a game or 3 right up until the last week. I thought Detroit would be the team to add some players. I also had no idea that Cueto would become available.

I don't quite understand the hatred for DVR'ing games. I don't DVR baseball games because there is just too many but I routinely DVR Chiefs games, and even my beloved Jayhawk games. Now I don't watch them the next day or anything, but I watched them in a delayed sense. So I try to start watching the game at a point where it will catch up live by the end of the game. You guys like watching commercials and fluff time?

I like watching live sports - live.

Crazy I know. I'm going to be on twitter or getting texts from whoever throughout the games. Hell, I might even be on CP. I think it is definitely odd as **** to DVR sports. They're an event. It's not another episode of The Apprentice.

The commercials in baseball are nothing. They aren't an inconvenience at all. Football commercials can be ridiculous, as can college basketball - but they're worth sitting through if it means I'm actually watching the event real time.

It's easily the most astounding revelation I've found on this board. Only losers watch live TV. My brothers even got my mom who is 70 to use DVR years ago. We had a watch party for KU-Kentucky 2012 title game.....and started it an hour in. Incredible anyone under 40 would ever watch an ad or pitching change or TV timeout or instant replay challenge.

That won't be happening once Gordon is back. No way Zobrist isn't starting so either Rios or Infante will be going on the bench on a nightly basis, or Yost may alternate using them, but come October no way you will see those two in the lineup together starting in the same game. Just simply won't happen.

As far as other teams looking feeble against the Royals, I think the Royals cause a lot of that with their defense and fundamentally sound play. I watch other baseball games and I don't see a lot of those teams making the same, or as many, mistakes against other teams as they do against the Royals.

Some people may call it dumb luck, others say luck is what you make it or when preparation meets opportunity. I tend to lean towards the latter.
