NFL.com: Maclin likely to disappoint
If Q, please delete.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...ppoint-in-2015 6. Jeremy Maclin, Chiefs receiver After setting career highs with 85 catches and 1,318 receiving yards last season, Maclin shifts from Chip Kelly's high-flying attack to Kansas City. He'll struggle to repeat that production against a steady diet of top corners and double teams in 2015. Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce will generate attention, but opponents aren't going to move off Maclin for the rest of that wideout group. While he's a massive upgrade at the position, K.C.'s conservative, run-heavy playbook makes the former Eagle a fantasy risk. |

Maclin is a good player. Actually a borderline great player IMO. But he won't do well here because he's not that much better, if at all, from Bowe. No receiver does well with Alice. The curse only applies if I think a player either sucks or is great. See Sean Smith.

If Maclin doesn't pan out in KC it will be due to 1 of 2 things.
1. He's injured a lot and doesn't see much time on the field to warrant any real success. 2. Alex Smith

No receiver does well with Russell Wilson either.
Our team is built a lot like theirs.

I forecast very "Andre Rison" like numbers.
70 catches, 1081 yards.

There's a huge difference in their passing attack and ours. Seahawks: 8th in YPC Chiefs: 28th in YPC

3. He's never been the #1 option and can't handle the pressure and/or get open on an individual level to be a star receiver.

Yeah he won't get 1300 yards and 10+ TDs, but he'll get 950-1100 yards and 5-7 TDs. He's such a perfect fit for this offense that's it would be hard for him not to do that if he plays 15-16 games.

In the last two seasons? Absolutely. They certainly led far more productive passing games and offensive attacks.

So if Nick Foles/Mark Sanchez was under center for the Chiefs this upcoming season you would have no doubt Maclin would match or even surpass his numbers from last year? Do you truly believe that Bowe and Maclin are one in the same? You truly believe our lack of a passing attack falls squarely on Alex Smith's shoulders because the receiving talent was there for him to be more successful than what he was?

Here's what I believe: Alex Smith isn't good enough, he's never been good enough, and yet another talented WR is going to suffer under his cruel yoke this season.
