Upgrading my phone. Cheap ATT phone to LG G2. Advice?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/LG-G2-Latest...item27f252e421
Looking at upgrading my current phone. Anyone have the LG G2 linked above? Currently I use a AT&T Tribute/Fusion 3... http://www.att.com/esupport/article....B425444&cv=820 and my backup is a Nokia Lumia 635 windows phone... http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/mobile/phone/lumia635/ Both are low end phones. I really like the Windows phone but the lack of google apps blows it for me. I already know this blows away my cheapy phones from last Christmas but is it worth the money to upgrade? |

Main reason for me is the size. 5.2" is already pushing my comfort level. Anything bigger in dimensions and I'm just not interested, which sucks because I like the removable battery on the G3. Hoping the next Nexus is going to be a Nexus 5 remake thats based on the G4, if the rumor of LG making it is legit. I just hope its not a 4K display.

That's just flat out wrong. G3 is a MUCH better device in virtually every aspect. But it would cost more

If I had to get a new case for my phone since the one I have is no longer made, apparently, I'd go with the Spigen dual shock, or whatever it's called. Not sure how much bulk it adds compared to mine but it doesn't look to be near anything like a behemoth otterbox.
EDIT: Spigen Slim Armor. http://www.mobilefun.com/41295-spige...etal-slate.htm Or there is a knockoff branded version on Amazon made by "Anoke" for $8. Last edited by jd1020; 05-09-2015 at 01:53 PM.. |

I may buy that too just as a precaution. It sounds like it bears the brunt of any hit and shatters so the phone doesn't.

Yeah if you don't like cases, I think that glass protector is a great idea. Never heard of them either before this thread.

The G2 screen has a beveled edge. That screen protector only covers the flat part of the screen and not the rounded edges, so it shouldn't be a problem with any case. My case covers up most of the bevel but there's maybe a mm or so of exposed glass between the case and screen protector. I'm not sure if there is a company out there that makes a conformed screen protector. And their shipping, IIRC, was about as fast as getting something from California on standard shipping. I think I got it in about a week, maybe a bit longer depending what day I ordered. I remember being surprised when it arrived, since it's shipped from Hong Kong or some shit, if that means anything. Here's a 100+ page thread of people reviewing/commenting on various tempered glass screen protectors for the G2 you can go through if you feel bored. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...50811&page=111 I chose the one I linked because people were saying good things about it and others who bought a different one were complaining that theirs was too big and the edges weren't on the glass because of the curve. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...450811&page=35 This page has pics of the same kind I bought on the phone with a case. He's got his higher up than mine so the gap on the bottom is slightly larger. Last edited by jd1020; 05-14-2015 at 09:02 AM.. |

Dry. These are maybe the easiest screen protector to install of them all. Simply pull a tab removing the sticky backing. Align the bottom then set it and run finger down center and push out to edges. Any bubbles and there are few you push out to side with thumb or credit card. Its not soft and pliable so you can actually hold the edge because its stiff and makes easier. I get mine from xtremeguard when I see a 90% off on Slickdeals.net which is often. They mail out and abut three business days through USPS. I got 3 for like 12 bucks 2 weeks or so ago seem very good quality.
