ok now I feel like a dick... I have just been informed it is useful for people with severe arthritis who can't otherwise get to their beenie weenies or whatever is in a pull tab can. Pretty good idea actually.

It could help me out, too. Due to chemo, most of my fingertips feel as if I have alligator clamps on them and opening such things is not very pleasant for me.
