I'd rather have a glass thermometer shoved up my dick and shattered while still inside than read another Deberg thread.

Nein.
I'm fat, old, and out of shape. This dog knows where his yard ends...

I did Tough Mudder a couple years back because some friends were doing it and I didn't have anything else going on. It sounds intense: 11 miles and a number of obstacles. In reality, it was just thousands of people walking, and quarter-mile-long lines at each of the ridiculous obstacles, which ranged from stupid (mud pits that were essentially like glue) to dangerous (rope climb up 20-foot wall, regardless of the participants weight or ability). The only obstacle that I really enjoyed, or was challenging to me, was the ice container: you jump into a 10x6 crate of ice water, then dive underwater to clear a wooden partition down the middle. I remember thinking, "no sweat", but the dip left me in a near-catatonic state; right after the initial plunge I couldn't get my muscles to do anything, but within a minute I felt great.

I think they're stupid, but sometimes my wife drags me to them anyway.

I find some of the gimmick races kind of intriguing, but I've never done one. They seem more like social events than athletic events, and I don't do social events.

What is "running"?

I've done the Warrior Dash a couple of times. It's really fun.

I do a couple of mud runs every year. It's the only way I can motivate myself to run. I usually just prefer weights.
Rugged Maniac is pretty tough. It's at Snow Creek and the first thing you do is run up one of the ski slopes. Warrior Dash is a bit more laid back. |

I participated in a zombie themed race with some friends. Probably the only reason I did/would do anything like this.

No. We do lots of normal 5k and 10ks, but we never do these. They are kind of, for lack of a better term, gay. They attract a lot of non-serious participants and that becomes rather annoying.
