I love it.

Quote:
an arrest warrant has been issued for Star Trek actor William Shatner, who is reported to have stolen the space shuttle Enterprise.

It is believed that Shatner carried out the audacious theft with a group of friends after claiming they just wanted to ‘look the old bird over’ before she was broken up.

NASA are reported to be incredulous about the crime, as the Enterprise was retired from service in 2012.

A spokesperson said, “We just don’t understand how they got her going. She’s a relic on a one-way trip to the scrap heap.”

“Quite simply, the engines cannae take it.”

“The only way they could get that old tub going again would be to steal parts from a nuclear vessel, and who has the ability to do that?”

Shatner to search for Nimoy

Shatner and his crew – reported to comprise Nichelle Nichols, George Takei and Walter Koenig – are understood to believe that Leonard Nimoy will have been reborn on a new, Edenic alien world as suggested in a 1984 documentary.

When asked their course, shortly before passing out of radio range, Shatner is reported to have replied “Second star on the left, and straight on ’til morning.”

I think it's unfair to judge someone for how they deal with the death of loved ones

I'm sure he would be there if possible... I bet he signed a contract to appear in that charity event.

Not a judgement about his character. I just suspect he will really regret it.

So, I don't really much fault Shatner for missing the services. Everyone deals with death in different ways, etc. etc.

But this is as good a time as any to mention that Bill Shatner is, in real life, a pretty big dick. His ego is enormous, and anything or anyone that doesn't feed into his need for constant gratification will be scorned or dismissed.

The rest of his Star Trek cast pretty much all hated/hates him, although I've never heard any reports of serious dislike between Shatner and Nimoy.

I have paid some attention to the careers of Nimoy and Shatner because I enjoyed Star Trek and their work. Alot of the dislike of Shatner by the Star Trek cast stems from him constantly demanding more air time in the TV series. When they would set up shots, etc., he would try to increase his role at the expense of others.

Proof that he wasn't well loved by the cast? Sure:

General article on the animosity: http://www.express.co.uk/expressyour...40-year-battle

George Takei (Sulu): http://nypost.com/2014/07/21/40-year...still-feuding/

James Doohan (Scotty): "I like Captain Kirk, but I can't say that I'm very fond of Bill Shatner" http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001150/bio

Yes, it was a tv show. So what?
