Beloved: Your Favorite Chiefs. Round 1, Heat 19. Defensive Line, Part 3

This is the third and final heat of defensive linemen. Who are your favorites, the guys whose three-point stance got you stoked up. (That didn't sound right.)

Remember - FAVORITE, not necessarily best. The guys you liked the most for whatever reason.

My votes:

#1 - Art Still. Easily my favorite defensive lineman of all time. This guy was a great player on the field and quite entertaining to read about off the field. Seems like a guy who would be fun to do a road trip with. I wept when they traded him.

#2 - Jared Allen. Was a drunk redneck? Yeah, but he was our drunk redneck. Make fun of me if you want, but I liked him and my eyes watered a little when they traded him. Until of course Jamaal showed up.

#3 - Neil Smith. The Bronco thing is a deal killer in the long run, but in the first round I'll give him my vote. He was enjoyable to watch and his interviews made me laugh. And I was glad to see him at DT's Hall of Fame induction.

Honorable mention:

Man, there are lots of enjoyable players in this heat. Wallace Gilberry stands out as a player that I really liked, along with Vaughn Booker. I didn't know much about them off the field, but they were high-motor guys on the field.

I struggled with this one. Was between him and Booker. Ended up going Maas/Allen/Booker.

If Art Still doesn't win this heat, I'm leaving Chiefsplanet forever. Just a warning.

It's quite possible that Art Still is the coolest dude who ever wore a Chiefs uniform. Take my word on this.

Art Still was my favorite non-Buccaneer for several years in the 80's.
