When it became official Kim Anderson was the new coach we joked that this was the equivalent to KU hiring Turner Gill. Mizzou fans, KU fans, it didnt matter. It seemed pretty obvious to everyone this wasnt going to go well. Mizzou will never be one of the great CBB teams but to be maybe the biggest pile of dog **** in CBB is inexcusable. Oh well, one more disastrous season then a few bad years to get back to respectability. And that is the best case scenario. |

We can only hope that the mass exodus will force the school to move on because the losses alone won't make them fire his ass. This ****ing blows but we knew this would happen.

No, you really don't. I'll listen to one more year, but even that is not a guarantee. If there isn't major improvement next season - 10-12 wins better - he absolutely can be fired. Considering they're going to lose a few good players and are recruiting jack shit to replace them, that's a tall task

He could be a fine role player given time and development, but he's not going to be an instant-impact guy. The only guys Mizzou is recruiting that are that level player are Thomas Bryant (who is going to go to Kentucky or Indiana) and Mychal Mulder (who is going to go to Wichita State or Louisville).
Even the most positive scouting reports on VanLeer - from professionals, not PowerMizzou fans - talk about his shortcomings on defense and how he's going to have to make up for his lack of natural gifts with intelligence, scouting reports, etc. He's only 6-3/6-4, which means he has to guard opposing 2 guards, and he doesn't have the lateral mobility or quickness to be a high-level defender there. Honestly, I think he's a Josh Kroenke-type player at the college level. Maybe with slightly better ball handling.

Jabari Brown is leading the D-League in scoring at 24.3 PPG. I would think that would earn him a call-up before too long. It would be nice to see him get an NBA contract, especially with what he's gone through the last year.

These two wins are going to get Dipshit another two years. Nothing to celebrate.

I watched the last ten minutes of the first half. It was all I could stomach. This team is significantly worse than it was two months ago.

The two wins, combined, might change that perception. I would hope not, but it is possible.
