Carjacking at 95th & Monrovia with baby in car ends safely

So, a car was stolen\jacked at a Bank of America at 95th & Monrovia tonight with a 5 month old baby in the back. The car and baby were found at 79th & Wornall and the baby is safe.

This ended well but it happens too often. This is the perfect case for CCW, imo. Apparently one of the passengers was hit in the leg with a bat. It is unclear if the person was trying to save the child or not.

Having said that, what would you do if someone tried to take your car with your child in the back seat? It's a very scary thought but these days it seems to be one we must confront on a daily basis.

I am a girl, and I walked to school since kindergarten. Went through LAUSD during the brown vs black wars. Nothing bad ever happen to me ever. One night in 9th grade this girl acted like she wanted to fight me. I was scared shitless but I made a big show of quietly, sternly, putting my hair up, taking my earrings off, and giving my books to my girlfriend. My attacker muttered something I still don't know and walked away.

I had one violent incident in 18 years and that was in a higher end neighborhood with a man very much not black. Then the years of living in Phoenix. Running around the city streets at all sorts of hours. Countless drug deals. Never robbed, never hurt, never even so much as insulted by anyone except my husband.

Avoiding an area with a bad reputation is fine. Having a sense of fear and lumping everyone in as a single group of people when you go somewhere based on their proximity is dumb.

The way you analyze data and make assumptions makes you prone to forming ignorant opinions about people you don't even know. That's exactly how RWNJ's come to these ridiculous conclusions that they come to.

Basically, you might look at some black guy at a gas station that happens to be near a shitty part of town and assume he's a violent criminal when he very well may be a non-violent, educated and articulate man.
