Bungie Destiny

Didnt see this posted anywhere.

Bungie's Destiny Will be Revealed in 5 Days

Mark your calendars for this Sunday, February 17.

by Lucas M. Thomas
February 12, 2013

Yesterday we brought to you the news that a reveal of Bungie's next project, Destiny, was being hinted at for this upcoming Monday, February 18 – an augmented-reality game on the studio's website seemed to be pointing toward that date. Well, we won't have to wait quite that long. It's now been announced that Destiny will be unveiled one day earlier than we thought, on this Sunday, February 17.
An official Facebook page went live today and made that announcement as its first order of business. A Twitter account for the game has also been activated as well.
And if all that isn't enough to get you hyped, have a first look at the game's just-revealed logo as well:

Well that was fun...

Managed to get enough strange coins to get IB and Obsidian mind. Two short for one of the other two helms going into Saturday night with all the guaranteed coin stuff done (Mars chests, weeklies).

Ran around doing patrols/bounties, strikes etc. farming engrams. All the PEs I did popped ascendant mats...all my cryptarch decodes were coinless...

Roll into Sunday to do the dailies probably about 3 hours after Xur exited...First daily I did, went to decode the engrams and two blues in a row pop strange coins.

All I could do was laugh. RNG my aice. This game is engineered with some skynet shit just to frustrate me.

I don't understand why they can't do matchmaking for Raids. its a pain trying to get 6 people together.

This...though I'm sure I'd hate who I got paired with.

I'd be in if I can work it out w/my schedule. I'm usually on in the afternoon on weekdays and mornings/afternoon on weekends. The last weekend of this month my schedule would be very open.

29 Warlock, 28 Titan, 27 Hunter depending on what the group needs.

I just used that site you recommended for VoG. Being a first timer in that, a couple of them were getting very irritated with me. Kind of irked me because I told them going in I was a n00b to the mission. The learning curve is pretty bad with me when playing live with people that know what they are doing but don't explain what they need from me.

I think that was somebody else...I haven't used any sites for matchmaking. If I did, it'd probably be r/fireteams. I hear if you post in there that you're new and looking to be sherpa'd there are a lot of people in there who like helping folks.

But yeah, what you're saying is exactly why I haven't tried anything yet. I don't want to be the guy who's never done it unless the folks I'm playing with are cool with that. Because I also haven't done any research on VoG.

Trust me, you don't want match making for Raids or Nightfalls.

LFG is your best bet along with the Fireteams subreddit.

Image getting paired with 5 other people who have never done a raid. They might be slightly under leveled or have terrible weapons. There's also a good chance that they'll leave right in the middle.

Going through sites like LFG ensures that you're running with people that are in it to win it. You're going to have bad raids and good ones and you're going to find that there's a lot of weirdos out there. My team will usually supplement our team with 1 or 2 from LFG and we get a lot of mumblers that mumble to themselves through the whole raid. We've also gotten a lot of great raiders that make it on to the friends list afterwards. It's a crap shoot.

Was definitely fun. Im on vacay for the next week so I wont be on but happy to run you through VOG easy ( to get your feet wet with the mechanics) and hard (by now, with an experienced team, VOG is super easy, even on hard mode) + Crotas End easy assuming you're 30 by next week. You're lucky with the drops/ engrams so you'll likely get bad ass weapon and armor drops off the raids. If you want to run the raids we can shoot for next Thursday, if you can get on.

Crota Hard Mode ain't no joke. The first two parts are the same, just a lot tougher. I scored the new raid auto riffle from the bridge. Two members of our team got the pulse riffle and the auto (pulse from the Abyss).

Crota is where the big differences are. The knights are all yellow/majors, even the boomers. Instead of a melee knight hopping on to the bridge there's a wizard and she blocks shots on Crota and if you get Crota down she'll take out your sword carrier. During ogres you can't go down to the middle because there's a gatekeeper hanging out down there. He won't bother you if you don't hang around in the pit though. We were able to do a good amount of damage to Crota but couldn't figure out a way to get past the ogre phase.

You need to go hide on the right side to beat the ogres. You also have to make sure you don't get Crota to less than 10% on your second sword run. Keep him at about 15% deal with the Ogres and then take him down on the third. If he goes below 10% he becomes enraged and its pretty much impossible with the oversouls + adds. Also, no chalice so weapons/ armor that recover life are a must.

Just load the Fist of Crota mission on heroic and kill the Swordbearer in the complex. Then enter the room and kill all the thralls and acolytes with the sword.

Go to orbit and repeat until your bounties are complete. Quickest way I've found to do the 3 Swordbearer and Sword kill bounties.
