Wade Boggs claims he drank 107 beers in a single day...

With over over 3,000 hits and a career batting average of .328, Wade Boggs was one of the greatest pure hitters in baseball history. Not as well-known is the crown Boggs holds as the game's greatest pure beer drinker. Legend has it that the Hall of Fame third baseman once drank 64 beers on a cross-country flight from Boston to Los Angeles.

Boggs only denies that the number was 64. He doesn't say if the real number was more or less, only that it was "a few Miller Lites." It may seem unbelievable to us mortals that one man could drink so many beers on a single cross-country flight, but a little digging will turn up plenty of information to support the legend. On a radio show interview, former relief pitcher Jeff Nelson said that Boggs absolutely would drink "50 or 60" beers on a cross-country flight, explaining that the tally would begin in the locker room before carrying over to the drive to the airport, the tarmac, layovers, and any other chance he got as the team was making their way from coast to coast. "It wasn't just an isolated incident," Nelson concluded. "He did it almost every time."

Last night, the topic came up again when Charlie Day stopped by The Tonight Show to discuss the new season of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. In one episode, the gang tries to recreate Boggs's feat, and Boggs himself makes a cameo as part of a hallucination Charlie has when he's 30 beers deep. Day also claims that the stories about Boggs's drinking prowess are true, and that Boggs even told him that the actual number of beers he drank, the number he so smugly refused to divulge to Kornheiser, was 107.

Boggs went down on hookers, so who knows? Ha!

In college, I used to regularly (whenever requested by someone who wanted to witness it) put down 6 beers in one beer bong...which I would finish in what would seem like a few seconds. In retrospect, I feel stupid as hell about doing that.

I am a dead man if I smash Red Bull and Vodkas.
I know that I'm somewhat older than a here. For the the life of me, I don't understand the Reb Bull and booze thing. I would think that would make a hangover 100x worse.

There was no count as it was out of multiple kegs, but I've seen a guy tripping on multiple squares of LSD put down probably a 100 or so beers. I could see it happening over 24 hr amphetamine bender as well.

Why can you drink more beer with amphetamines? I don't see the connection.

There was a contest in college called the dirty thirty chug, you would basically do 3 beer bong pulls of 8-10 beers a piece (yes some kids actually did it.) Most people would attempt, fail or succeed on the first one and then be entirely to sick to attempt a second. However, one kid who I think was named Mike or Matt or something, anyways, kid had an iron stomach. He did the dirty thirty in 3 consecutive bongs, then later that night did a fourth. By most counts he had about ~50+ beers that night from 5:30 pm to 2:00 am, by 3:00 am he was passed out, ended up vomiting a gallon of beer out into the bathroom floor, and damn near drowned in it in the process. 106 doesn't seem possible to me after witnessing this. Mike.. or Matt.. was about 6'2, 250+ lbs and had been a daily drunk since he was in High School.

You can do both indefinitely until you die.

I started doing coke because I was getting too drunk at work.

And above ALL else I'm a problem solver.
