If I'm Manning, I retire now.

I wouldn't wanna play anymore if it's gonna be at a level I'm not accustomed to playing. Much respect though. Great career. But father time is undefeated.

Stats don't mean anything if you can't succeed in the playoffs or super bowl.

Right now? Tom Brady. I've said as much.

Pre-neck injury?

Peyton Manning.

You're one of the guys who gives all of Russell's postseason credit to the defense and Marshawn Lynch.

You know what Russell is doing right now?

EXACTLY WHAT TOM BRADY DID DURING THEIR 3 SUPER BOWLS IN 4 YEAR SPYGATE RUN. (Minus the spygate).

So yeah.

Yeesh, here we go again.

Dude, NINE one-and-dones. More than double any other QB in Super Bowl era history (second is four). His team was favored in EIGHT of them (not that I give a crap about that, but you seem highly focused on what Vegas thinks so I'll throw that in there).

Say whatever you want about whoever else you want, the evidence is pretty damn clear -- he just doesn't elevate his game or his team in the playoffs.

Ryan Fitzpatrick/Tom Savage
Jake Locker/Mettenberger/Whitehurst
Blake Bortles

JUGGERNAUT DIVISION

Way tougher than Mark Brunell in his prime / Steve McNair (MVP) in his prime.

Way, way tougher.

Clearly, something happened this year where Peyton just lost all the drive behind his throws. It was pretty evident for about two months.

Yesterday wasn't even a choke ... the guy just had no chance. He had nothing behind any of his throws.
He had no chance because his coaches didn't adjust the gameplan to fit what they knew he could handle. They've made a living off pick plays, and have played the passing game close to the LOS for at least a month. It was clear to everyone watching that he couldn't get a deep ball out without floating it. Why not do what got you there. Just another reason their coaching is horrible. I think a more aggressive coach would have won at least once in the last 3 years. Del Rio couldn't adjust his defense full of stars to match up better than that? Was very similar to what Indy did to us in the playoffs last season. We couldn't adjust because injuries hurt us. They just couldn't adjust to bring some help to Talib. I put yesterday's Colts victory heavily on poor Denver coaching.

In fact, there was an "uncomfortable reality of a fading Tom Brady" thread that I totally laughed at.

I was about the only guy saying, "uh no. He's the same great QB he was 10 years ago. Still has the same arm. Still is the same exact guy."

But I'm glad everyone is fully back on the Brady bandwagon. I'd hate to bump that Chiefs / Pats game thread and quote some of the ridiculous posts that were made.
I can at least sleep comfortably knowing none were from me.

Seriously, though, Brady wasn't great the first four weeks, but I think it was mostly his OLine getting smacked around and him having no chance to do much of anything that was causing it.

Nor was Brady great in the first half last night. But that second half, DAMN!

What does it matter, though?

Tom has had worst postseason success than Peyton in the last 10 years and I've proved it with fact.

If Tom loses to Luck next week ... what's the difference? I must know.

if anything, the fact Manning came back after those neck surgeries and got back to a Super Bowl after breaking every single season passing record while having 60% of the arm strength he had in his prime is a pretty amazing feat

but I realize he's awful, terrible and I learned yesterday that ChiefsPlanet.com would take Alex Smith over Peyton Manning

the same guy the entire board hates more than cancer

Yeah.

If people think my like for Peyton Manning is on the extreme, then the dislike for him by the other side is on the other end of the extreme.

He's the worst playoff QB in NFL history.

Most 1 and done's in NFL history.

Most playoff losses in NFL history.

And he's been SPOILED with freakish offensive talent his whole career...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

I think Manning is a great QB. Even at 50% he will still beat our asses next year and that makes me sad!

Phil Simms mentioned something interesting yesterday. Since the injury, or when John Fox took over the offense, or whatever, Manning seldom changes the play, for the reason, according to Simms, to keep the offensive line aggressive. It seems Manning's big strength is all that pre-snap stuff he does in order to get the match-up he wants.

Obviously, something is going on with his health, but at the same time, I wonder if those Fox rumors were driven by tension between Manning and Fox over who is in charge of the offense.

how is Peyton Manning the worst QB in postseason history when he has the highest QBR in postseason history and has led the postseason in QBR more than anyone in history, as well?

That's just ridiculous. It really is.

he also has better postseason numbers (at least before this season, haven't looked at the update after this weekend) than Tom Brady

better rating, better QBR

but he's the worst playoff QB ever

yeah
