You obviously missed the point of the post.

Mike Riley builds offensive teams that score a lot and score quickly. That tends to hamstring the defense a bit, regardless of whether you have talent or not. That is the kind of team he will be building at Nebraska.

Elite defensive talents will not want to come play for a coach like that, unless they are in state recruits or have 'strong' family connections to the University.

"Nebraska is still in the picture" is a very telling quote from the mother. I will be SHOCKED if they don't de-commit inside of 3 months.

We shall see . . . . . .

Hope so.

Frankly, considering current circumstances, not sure why an elite D-Lineman from MO would choose Nubs over Tigers?

You can go play in the 4th or 5th best football conference in the country and play for a heavily offensive-minded coach or stay at home, play for the State school,
Play in the best football conference in America, get better exposure, and play for coaches who have a strong and well deserved reputation of coaching up defensive lineman and preparing them to play in the NFL.

Seems like a no-brainer, on the surface.

Didn't say they wouldn't, just said it would be an odd choice considering current circumstances.

I've not spent a considerable amount of time with him, but I'm close with a lot of people who have, and say he's a good guy. That said, there sure haven't been a ton of BS guys heading down I 70 during his tenure.

I know. He's just a KU guy which makes it hard for Mizzou to land BS kids.

Blue Springs seniors Carlos and Khalil Davis have reopened their college football recruitment, Carlos told The Star after the Simone Awards ceremony Tuesday morning.

The twin defensive tackles will take an official visit to Missouri next month, with Oregon, TCU and North Carolina State also in the picture, Carlos said, adding that Nebraska was no longer an option after it fired head coach Bo Pelini last week.

Nebraska hired Mike Riley on Thursday to replace Pelini.

“It’s not the same,” Carlos said. “I had a real good relationship with Pelini and (defensive line coach Rick Kaczenski) and the whole staff, and it’s just not the same. Coach Riley’s a nice coach, but I don’t have the connection with him.”

That sounds like a killshot to me. Sure would be nice to secure some depth after Augusta and Brantley leave. I would think that Beckner and those two would bump the class up to top 20-25 in the country.

Yeah, saw that after the fact and I went back and deleted my quoting of his post. Obviously, my response is still there, but I don't think it alludes specifically to anything anyone shouldn't know.
