NFL Power Rankings from SI.Com

I don't usually pay too close attention to the power rankings because they fluctuate so much and teams go hot to cold quickly. I guess it doesn't really matter until playoff time. However, this is impressive to me. KC is currently ranked #4 and SI made an interesting comment here:

Link: http://www.si.com/nfl/2014/11/19/nfl...gland-patriots

"An offense led by one of the best running backs in football, a defense that can be impenetrable and a daunting home-field advantage fueled by an extremely boisterous crowd -- I seem to remember a team fitting a similar description winning the Super Bowl recently."

Pardon me while I go beat off for a while. Brb

Did you realize that there are only 3 AFC teams (NE, Denver, KC) in the top 10 on this list? That doesn't seem quite right somehow, especially given the train wreck that is the NFCS.

Denver still has a pretty good pass rush....that is gonna make it hard on us. We just don't have enough people to throw to. Kelce and Bowe are gonna need to be spectacular till the end of the season. We need to get some big games out of them. Alex is gonna need to up his throwing time like he did at the end of last season. I think we are pretty much done with all the hard core defenses. During the post season I'm sure we're going to be going up against some powerhouse offenses. We are gonna need to start putting up some major points. I really really wish we would have addressed the receiver position in the off season. I think we're gonna regret that decision sooner rather than later. Imagine if we would have taken Kelvin Benjamin instead of Dee Ford in the draft. 6'-05" 240lbs and he's already caught 768 yrds so far this season. That would have been a sweet pick. Put him on the field with Kelce, Bowe and Jamal Charles....that would have been awesome. Just saying.

Honestly, Green Bay should be #1. It's hard to beat a team that's averaging 75 points per game, and they're exactly what the league office wants to see.

They faced the Eagles and the Bears defenses. Any of the top 10 offenses could have put up those kinds of numbers against those guys.

We have plenty of people to throw to.

Jamaal, DAT, Bowe, and Kelce are a great core. Donnie Avery, as much as he's hated here, offers a ton in his speed.

All those guys, coupled with our pretty damned good run game and Alex's judicious ball handling should make for a pretty effective offense- as it has.

Eh, Indy is 6-4 and have only beaten two teams with a winning record in Ciny & Baltimore. I think they've taken a step back this season.

I'm beginning to wonder if Avery will even return this season. He's out Thursday night.

The Lions, Eagles, and Cowboys each only have one win against a team expected to even be in contention for the playoffs. Contention. Yes, I am not including any teams in the NFC South.

I'm surprised AJ Jenkins is still out. The guy must really be hurt. He's gotta know he's out of the NFL next season if he doesn't prove himself this year.

The Chiefs tried and missed with Sanders. Most felt at the time THAT was huge. It's proven to be. So, we need to make due with what we have. I just feel that sooner or later, that's not gonna be enough.

We've still got a ton of time left in the regular season. Let him rest up and hopefully come back just before the playoffs.

We haven't seemed to have missed a beat without him and we've got most of the tough defense's out of the way.

Avery had sports hernia surgery first week of October. Just read that recovery time is usually between 2 weeks and 2 months. Looks like it's closer to 2 months. So the good news is, that window is hopefully starting to close. Maybe the long prep for Denver is when they plan to ease him in.

Not that Avery is really any good, but getting him back will still be a plus.
