AFC West - 7 games left

Hola - so I've taken a break from posting here for the most part and I think we're all happier. However, going into the final stretch of 7 games with the bye weeks done, it looks like it's going to be a nice battle for the division crown.

Not much room for error, quite honestly, with each team having at least 3 difficult (in red) games in the final 7. The Chargers, in my opinion have the toughest road with the Ravens, Patriots, Denver, SF and KC. They're really going to have to turn it on to make up the 2 game gap, otherwise they're pinning their hopes on a wildcard, which is more difficult as the 3rd place divisional team ... and you have three 6 win teams in the North.

Denver and KC have the game @KC and that could mean everything. If KC can knock off SEA next week, that's a monstrous development for the race. My guess is most chalked that up as a loss, but they've been very mortal lately.

Denver has looked anything but unbeatable the last few weeks, they've played ok, but the OL is having issues - too many penalties and the defense bends and breaks on 3rd down against aggressive teams.

At some point, that could cost them a win against a Miami or Cincy.

Nice win for KC at Buffalo yesterday, good road win. At the very least, it appears right now that we have a 3-team race. Should look that way for the next 2 weeks, as I think SD can win two straight (OAK, STL). All three teams can win their next two games and then we're heading into December with quite the finish for the divisional crown.

Good luck with all that...

Broncos (7-2 overall / 3-0 Div)
Lost @ SEA and @ NEP
@ STL
MIA
@KC
BUF
@SD
@CIN
OAK

Chiefs (6-3 overall / 1-1 Div)
Lost to TEN, @ DEN and @ SFF
SEA
@OAK

OAK
@PIT
SD

Chargers (5-4 overall / 1-2 Div)
Lost @AZ, to KC, @ DEN and @MIA
OAK
STL

Yeah you did. You were having a hissy fit about it too until you got your ass handed to you.

EDIT: I also noticed that you had NOTHING to say to him about his predictions until after the games were over.

Now, who's trolling who?

I understand personality conflicts. You two don't jive. It happens. That does not automatically make him a scum bag troll however.

And, IMHO, if it were just an act, I would think that his true colors would have been seen after 14+ years. Maybe not, maybe he is just that good. But I'll need some hard fast evidence before I accuse him of such.

I've met and tailgated with MHM. He's genuine.

A bit misguided in his fandom, but a good dude nonetheless.

While it's possible the Chargers will lose the last 5 games like you predicted, that's a ****ing stupid prediction based on history.

Edit: Chargers are 33-7 in their last 5 games of the season since Rivers has been the starting QB (2006-present).

Yep. Never said he was a "Knowmo"...

No disrespect to you, but you and I will disagree on the subject. IMHO, it is indeed an act.

Your decision making process is sound. I used to feel as you do about him until he provided me with said evidence. I called him out - we had words - we don't like each other. We are both cool with the result.

That's still the coldest I've ever been watching a game... didn't help that they ran the initial kickoff in for a TD and that Plummer generally... played like you would expect Plummer to play @ KC.

Good day though, my toes still stop moving at the thought.

Yeah, just looked it up. 20 degrees, 16 mph, wind chill was 6 degrees.

IIRC, you weren't exactly dressed appropriately for the weather.

Yeah, I think when we woke up the wind chill was negative and then it became a balmy 20 degrees. Obviously, living in Texas - my wardrobe isn't fit for that weather. We were at my brother-in-laws for the holidays (nearby in NE), I had one of his big Cornhusker jackets.

Our seats were in the shade, as if there was much sun... too damn cold to drink beer and once the game started, that's really all I had left to look forward to... well, that and a heater.

He found it oddly amusing that I knew this group of locals via the Internet. Good time though, great bunch of fans - met many of you there. My BIL was impressed with meeting Weirdwolf and First Down Elvis, he still talks about it.

This thread would be a great thread if it were actually about the subject of the OP, not the OP himself.

I agree...

Back to that 6 games remaining thing. I believe Denver will protect home and win those 3 games, yes Miami and Buffalo have good defenses --- but even with the dinged up lineup, Denver should beat those teams by 10 points. That puts them at 10 wins and 3 tough road games. Cincy is helter skelter, honestly no idea what to expect from that bunch.

But, I'll say they lose 2 of the road games... gives them 11 wins.

KC - let's say they protect home and win those 3, they move to 10 wins. With road games @ OAK, AZ and PIT. Honestly, I could see them losing 2, winning only at OAK. Leaves us with a tie at the top.

Quite frankly, with the way SD has been up and down (like Cincy), I just don't see them winning 4 of 6 to get to 10 wins. Find it for me. They play @ Baltimore, @ SanFran and @ KC... not to mention they host New England and Denver. I don't see it, 8-9 wins for the Chargers.

If things hold and both KC and Denver get to 11 wins, with KC splitting the series in a few weeks... the tiebreakers will be very interesting. Makes the remaining divisional games VERY important - OAK / SD, for both our teams. Bottom line, Denver still controls their destiny to win the division and gain the #2 seed - need help to get that #1 seed.
