Late night bullshit: name your future 30 for 30s

I mentioned in another thread... A few 30 for 30s bother me.... Ones with stories that are so obvious, it was overplayed. Biographies unless there was something extraordinary about it (sorry... Bo Jackson? Randy Moss? Those are nfl network Biographies, not 30 for 30s). And events so fresh in everyone's mind that the story is already well known. Anyway... With those biases clearly stated, what are...

30 for 30s we should see in the next few years because the story is still a little nostalgic?

What will be 30 for 30s ten years from now?

Hard to imagine ESPN still pumps out this kind of quality product when you see what the majority of their programming consists of these days.

AWESOME topic!!!

Dan Gable in the 1972 Olympics.

The Ryan Leaf story or at least a Ryan Leaf/Peyton Manning hybrid story with an emphasis on how they were evaluated prior to being drafted, the draft itself and the outcome.

I genuinely believe that the Chiefs 2012 season would make an extremely interesting 30 for 30 special.

Has anyone seen Survive and Advance? It is about Jimmy Valvano and the N.C. State basketball team of 1983. Probably the most powerful 30 for 30, IMO. my God, that team defeated a Houston team that had Olajuwan AND Drexler....just unbelievable.

I watched "No Mas" a couple days ago. It chronicled the Sugar Ray Leonard vs. Roberto Duran rivalry with an emphasis on the fight where Duran quit. I think the documentary was filmed with intentions of painting Sugar Ray as the protagonist and obvious good guy of the situation between them. However, I personally walked away from that one feeling like Sugar Ray is a whiney little bitch and I no longer can stand the guy. The ending, where the two meet up to discuss "why" Roberto Duran quit in their second bout was so awkward, it made my skin crawl.

Sugar Ray Leonard was and is a douche bag.

I was actually going to mention Jovan belcher. I would be the and junior seau are sure to be 30 for 30s one day... Given the connection to head injuries.

Just crazy. Survive and advance was excellent too. Just watching valvano in action as a coach is reason enough to watch.

I agree. The head injury shit along with domestic disputes are surely going to be covered via 30 for 30.

Those 2012 Chiefs though.... whew! Belcher....Cassel allegedly being booed when injured, Winston, the banners, the firings, the first pick in the draft.... Man...that can make an intriguing story. I'd love to see some of these guys interviewed about that season.

Boxing: The Ike "The President" Ibeabuchi story. If that guy wouldn't have lost his marbles, he would be considered one of the best HWT boxers of all time, IMO. Instead, he spent his prime years in prison and is still there.

I think a Tyson vs. Buster Douglas documentary would be cool if done properly... some of the outside circumstances that led to the outcome would make things interesting....like Tyson's personal drama and the fact that Douglas lost his mother a few days before the bout and meant freaking business when he fought Tyson. I think when people talk about that fight, they get too carried away with their assumptions that Tyson simply didn't fight well and fail to give Douglas credit for doing as well as he did.

NFL: The 1999 draft with Tim Couch, Donovan McNabb and Akili Smith being selected with the first 3 choices.

- The McNabb vs Terrell Owens feud and their differing relationships with the city of Philadelphia.

MLB: From worst to first. The 1991 World Series between the Atlanta Braves and Minnesota twins.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

What would a good title for a 30 for 30 based on the Chiefs 2012 season be?
