I tried to sign up and post this info, but you have to be approved by a moderator. Well, I haven't been approved, and they may have posting restrictions for new members. So, I will post that info here:

Between July 22th and August 23rd the Royals went 24-6 including 5 wins vs the A's, 3 wins vs the Giants, and 3 wins vs the Indians. And between June 7th and June 18th they had a 10 game winning streak, which included 2 wins vs the Yankees, 2 wins vs the Indians, and 3 wins vs the Tigers. So, if that Orioles poster wants to look back to the regular season, he would see that, plus the fact that we won 4 out of 7 against them.

Go Royals.

Keep in mind we also have Duffy that can be used for middle innings reliever in addition in the playoffs.

Very surprised Duffy isn't getting a start in a 7 game series. He was our best starting pitcher this season. My only guess is that there is still some injury concern.

Injury? Not according to the Royals Mgmt. Of course, they aren't going to say otherwise. However, he appears to be good enough to be their middle inning guy, if they need one. So far, they've only dipped into that well once.

So yeah, I agree. You can't leave a pitcher like Duffy on the bench if there isn't an injury issue.

According to McCullough, they picked Duffy for the bullpen this postseason because in his last two starts he had trouble throwing strikes from the windup.

McCullough was saying that Duffy was having issues throwing strikes from the windup.

I don't mind going to Guthrie in game 3. Rust is the biggest concern. The O's do well against lefties, and I'd rather pitch Guthrie in our ballpark instead of Camden Yards. Those last couple starts Guthrie had great stuff, hopefully he finds it Monday.

We old dogs here loved the teams of the 70's, they were fun to watch and cruel because of the damn Yankees.

We felt the heartbreak of the WS lost to the Phillies in 1980.

We felt the unbelievable joy of the 85 WS Championship and felt the team was ready to take it's place amongst the elite MLB teams.

Then we followed them with more heartbreak in the late 80's.

Mr K passed away and our team went into a serious funk for years to come.

We have found our way back to the postseason and the joys are abound. We are playing a quality opponent in Baltimore.

As an old timer on the BB, it must be pointed out to you younger kids that are filled with the joy of winning in the postseason for the first time. While it is easy to be filled with so much excitement & confidence of winning, it is also easy to over look the true opponents, Baltimore & ourselves.

Detroit dominated us this year because of what I am about to speak on. Baltimore, just like Detroit has power, plenty of it. Kansas City jumping out first and making Baltimore's pitchers pitch more pitches per inning is a big reason KC is up 2 - 0 in this series, but it is not the only reason. All year long we ( fans ) have pined for the Royals to take more pitches at the plate, Be selective & make the pitcher work more, thus working the count to our advantage. This story speaks about it as well http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/eye-on-...behind-in-alcs

All year the Royals have been a much better road team by way of wins than wins as a home team. KC went to Baltimore and did what they had done all year, win on the road. Now we get to come home to a place where we do not win as well as we do on the road. I would like to see the # of pitches per bat on the road vs the # pitches per bat on the road. All year we have played well at time at the K, other times we have played crappy and lost some series at the K.

This series with Baltimore can shift all in the mist of just losing 2 of 3 games at home, in other words, a lost home series at the K. We have seen this before, playing so well on the road to come back to the K & fizzle out in front of the home crowd. KC needs to close it out at home, just win a 3 game series at home. We can not afford to lose the 3 game series at home, we can not afford giving the birds a breath of life leaving KC, no matter how good of a road team KC is.

This series can shift the minute KC gets away from the being patience at the plates. The more pitches you make the pitcher pitch, the more chances he is likely to make a mistake, hang a curve, a meatball out over the heart of the plate. The type of pitch that awakes the Baltimore bats and causes the birds to win a series in KC. All year we have seen the Royals swing at first pitches, getting too many early outs and leaving the pitcher with a low pitch count. This series with Baltimore, as it was with the Angels, the Royal bats were patience, working the count to our advantage.

You don't switch from what's working! You don't fix what doesn't needs fixing. The Royals ( & some fans ) are cocky right now, just as they were when they came home on a previous 10 game win streak earlier this year. Having confidence is one thing, to error thinking this thing is over is carelessness. All the players need to do is one thing, remember that all they have done to date is win a few games! That there are more games to win and until you get to that point of where it's over, don't change but just man the course to get there, keep working the pitcher over, work the count!

In 1985 Toronto got very cocky after winning Game 4 in KC. The Blue Jay players were heard talking about the series being over for KC.

Dyson and KC just needs to man the course, keep doing what is working, patience at the plate and play defense.

There is plenty of time for celebrating and reminiscing the season after the title is won.

What is really bothering me about the Royals

It isn't that we are down 2-0, or even that we have lost painfully in both games. Those things are not good, but I feel like what is really getting at me so much is that this team and fanbase do not deserve this much success this quickly and easily.

I get that they have been left out of the dance for 29 years, but you just aren't supposed to be able to get back and then not lose the rest of the way. How is that fair? You should have to pay your dues first. And dues do not equal zero pressure regular season games only for 29 years.

We as O's fans have absorbed countless awful playoff losses over the last 4 Octobers we have played in. The Red Sox, when they won in 2004, deserved it after all the awful losing they did in prior trips. In fact, most franchises that have won in the playoffs suffered some tough losing first.

And yet the country seems perfectly fine with the Royals winning every game and never feeling one ounce of playoff pain. I get that life isn't fair, but damn this really isn't fair. We deserve this more than they do, plain and simple.
