Not just done with KC,done with the NFL

Yet another thread and I even went as far tonight that I gave away a very nice Chiefs coat and chiefs stocking cap at the party I was at.Also quit my fantasy football league and am renouncing the NFL as a whole.

Pro football is nothing more than pro wrestling only the stage is 50,000 times larger and the NFL just might get their Luck/Manning rematch and maybe even their Manning/Brady rematch.I ****ing hate to think this shit is rigged but at 51 I've seen much to much over the years and am done being made a fool of.

Oh and lastly this years pro bowl will be a fantasy draft, really, wake the **** up people we're watching another form of Hollywood where some of the actors are paid millions and some are just bit players.

I understand the emotions of this and went through my stages of grief after Saturday's loss. And I can certainly understand the sentiments on this thread after 20 years of playoff failure, especially in the way we've lost some of these games. But I can't agree with it. There is no higher power manipulating the Chiefs loss, no Shuttlecock curse, and no, the NFL is not rigged. Let's move on. Just a little over six months until training camp...

Nah, being able to control emotions and shrug off losses that you have no control over anyway, while still being able to jump up and down and celebrate wins is where it's at, especially if the team you follow doesn't bring much joy in the first place.

Watching every heart breaking defeat while throwing shit at your TV and then losing sleep over it for years or decades at a time, followed by a championship, doesn't somehow make that one day or one season better... it just means you wasted a lot of time, money, and emotion.

I think the whole "replay" system has forced them to be more careful, and nefarious, about it....but the lack of statistics to track the questionable/subjective calls and their correlation to game outcomes gives them culpable deniability in all this.

It's guys like you and Joe...who the NFL ought to be really concerned about. They are gambling that all the profits from casual fans who are sucked in by the whole glitz and glamour of the game OUTWEIGH the loss of die-hard fans who are beginning to wonder about: if where there is smoke....there very likely is a real fire.
Unfortunately "we" are all just pawns in a complex game of profit and loss. Just like many are finding out now, like us, these NFL owners all have better things to do than the NFL and their team winning championships. It's my belief that while they like the sport, they like profit better. Our owner is a stand-out in that area, he choses to live in Dallas where his real money comes from. Heck, look at how he's so profit driven that he repaid "the family" what they put into the stadium renovations by spending under the cap (and pocketing the coin) for those years during and after the stadium renovation. Plus, since the owners know the truth, and it's purpose-built to be subtle enough to never be able to be proven, why not just go with the flow and get even more stupid rich. Like I've said, this money is shoe-shopping cash for the former Ms. Kansas, and she's from Kansas and she sure as hell isn't coming back...

I never created a sports room, and I'm happy for it in some strange way now.

One of the disappointing things are gamedays are simply a shell of what they once were. The stadium is full of old people...and people who don't know how to hold their booze. In a lot of cases its both.

It just is not enjoyable...especially for the money.

I can't imagine being drunk, wasted in Indy after that loss, with winter watch 2014 to face upon the return home.

Yuck, what a drag and miserable time that'd have been.

I can assure, I think I know Joe well enough, he's not going to be complacent on the 3 local St. Joe bars + Nascar to quench his thirst, He'll cave back into the NFL and it'll be next season.

it wasn't Katrina-esque but lets see...the Royals,Cards and Chiefs..one had a big night against a popular team and 2 baseball teams made the playoffs for the State.

it may not cure stuff but it might bring some revenue and sedate some of the masses . Don't you think maybe just a little ?
