Adrian Peterson Indicted

Reckless/negligent injury to a child. Indicted.

This league may not be able to sustain too many more of these black eyes. It's a mess.

What punishment is going to teach new skills to a 4 year old pushing other kids down?

And explain how.

I am being serious with this question.

I haven't read the whole thread but have read many post of yours claiming that research states corporal punishment doesn't work. From a psychology major and in the social service field. I can tell you that you are wrong. Negative reinforcement works just as well as positive reinforcements. You can read that in any behavior pyschology book. Not taking a stand whether its right or wrong. Personally I don't think you should ever hit a child in anger. But that doesn't mean corporal punishment can't be used as an effective tool to change behavior.

I should not have made light of a very serious situation. I understand the strong feelings about this issue and i shouldn't have said that

I honestly don't think he did. He just handled it the way it was handled when he was a kid. Doesn't mean he hates his dad, grandma, or whoever switched his ass.

Wow interesting. We need to have a beer some day. We could swap some interesting stories. Though I can't top the murder investigation thing, thankfully.

Dialogue and patience are your friend. I'm a 22 year old who basically brought up my 12 year old brother. What I learned was if you're persistent enough at some point your message will eventually break through. It's kind of similar to not giving into a terrorists demands- you have to be adamant like a rock, let them know resistance is futile, especially in the first couple years. Later when my bro was capable of conversing, I would actually sit him down and explain to him what he was doing was wrong and possible consequences for his actions. As flavorless as all of this sounds it worked out fine for me.

Your saying, if this kid went to school and these wounds were visible, He would't be arrested before the school day was over? I know we were all beaten as kids, today you tell your teacher you were spanked. You have CPS at your door before you get hoe from work.
