OT: Moving to Denver...

I got a promotion and I'm moving to Denver. Broncos jokes aside, I'm looking to live somewhere downtown, preferably a few blocks near the light rail. Any recommendations of what neighborhoods I should look into?

Yea you definitely want to move to 5 points. Its the best area. Or maybe somewhere on Federal ave. Just buy a place in either of those areas before going to check it out

9th and Ogden? That's like two blocks from my house. It's almost heaven.

I'm honestly pretty ignorant about the Highlands. I tend to think of it as a sleepy place full of old people and new immigrants because that was its reputation when I was forming my mental imprint of the city 20 years ago. But I know that it's exploded over the last five years or so and it's one of the hot spots these days along with Union Station. I don't know exactly where the epicenter is, though, and how far the cool part extends.

I like the Stapleton, NorthField, Lowry, Park Hill neighborhoods personally but they aren't downtown and there really isn't any light rail - but you don't really need light rail unless you live farther out

All good insights. Thanks for the heads up! I have a house hunting trip in a few weeks so may bump this thread before that.

Where are you living these days? For some reason I was thinking you moved west again. Weren't you working for one of the mountain counties or something? I admit that I've lost track of you.

Reunion and you are correct....If the Chiefs can turn this around we may need to spend a few sundays rooting them on again....The Baker neighborhood seemed like it was on the rebound - not far from Metro/UCD/Downtown

Reunion? Are you a homeowner now, or do they have rental property up there?

If you get called about a survey in the next couple of months, it's me. Please answer all questions truthfully and accurately to the best of your knowledge.

And yeah, we should watch a game together. Though I must warn you that I've become a pretty jaded fan these days.
