Rare talent? No. Very good WR? Sure.

Thomas was very average before brokeneck arrived.

if Peyton Manning were on the Chiefs he'd make Dwayne Bowe look like Demaryius ****ing Thomas and Donnie Avery look, at least, passable...

Great QB's always make their weapons look better...

Do you guys honestly think that Peyton Manning has just been the luckiest guy ever and that he just has hall of fame caliber receivers everywhere he goes?

Or, more realistically, does a QB who makes every correct read and puts the ball in the right spot almost every single time make these guys look a little better than they would be with say...Alex Smith?

I'm sorry, I'll keep using my Eddie Kennison theory here.

Eddie and Marvin were drafted 1 spot apart in the 1st round years ago...

Flip flop them, put Eddie with Peyton...and would Eddie have been a hall of famer?

I think so. Without a doubt.

as for the Chiefs and my level of excitement/depression with them...

I don't care anymore. I'll still watch every game because I've always done it since I was 5 years old. But for 2014, the only teams I care about are my fantasy teams and my daily fantasy teams. Because the Chiefs suck...so I am not going to spend 5 minutes this year being mad about it.

Pretty pissed off I already have Seattle/KC tickets...because I'd love to not go to that game and watch us lose by 40.

You guys were so close so many years but you were missing the one thing that's the elephant on this board, a QB.I try to stay out of all Chiefs topics but I have to finally add my two cents and say that the posters begging for a QB are right. The franchise will never change if they stay the retread route.

That's a big part of my premise, no doubt.

Which is why I didn't take RB's in fantasy this year. Not at all. Passing numbers are going to be up even higher than they have been this year. There is really no reason why teams with good QBs should run the ball very much anymore. Illegal contact/defensive holding/etc make running plays wasted downs.

True. Fact is though KC doesn't have a single WR that would start for Denver. And every one of Denver's would start for KC including the rookie Lattimer.
