He looked like a JAG on that OL. Not a big loss at all, IMO. Well, it wouldn't be if we had an even adequate player to replace him.

Comp picks are based on size of contract, but I thought they also had some factoring in of games played too. Not sure about that one.

Yup.
Comp picks are a combo of salary, playing time, and postseason achievements. Plus probably opinion mixed in. Even if Schwartz is injured, his contract pretty much neutralizes Vance walker's. Just as Jordan and Lewis pretty much neutralizes linkenbach, even though I can't see the chiefs getting penalized much for losing him. It would have been nice to have Schwartz "compete" for getting us a better comp pick but it won't matter too much. I'd be shocked if we didn't get the max four. The chiefs will get a nice haul out of these comp picks. Four picks and Alberts will be a real good one while Jackson and Asamoah should get us decent value too. If Atlanta makes the playoffs, the comp picks could rise. |

So far, Schwartz has been the worst starter on the offensive line.
Second round pick Weston Richburg replaced Schwartz at LG and the line immediately improved. Offensive line having Manning running for his life throughout preseason finally had time to march down the field for a TD. Guess the Giants were using Schwartz at LG instead of RG - Coughlin and Reese hard at work to run themselves off this team. Wow, this team is in trouble. Caution -- gotta go - think someone ran out of talent and collected my boy in a crash.
