USA Today predicts Chiefs at 4-12 for 2014

I could see it happening but really 6-8 wins seems pretty doable.

AFC West

Broncos 12-4 (2): Could be better than 2013 team even if wins and offensive output dip. But schedule is murderous.

Chargers 8-8: Last year's schedule allowed late-season charge. This year's could easily produce late-season slide.

Chiefs 4-12: Tight salary cap meant crippling free agent defections, and they didn't sufficiently reload in draft.

Raiders 3-13: Best thing influx of over-the-hill vets can do is change culture. Carr, Mack promise brighter days ahead.

This team is going to be playing defensive games to start off the year, except Denver.

I think you'll see a lot of 4/5 receiver sets with Kelce and DAT lined up outside to counter the pass rush. Quick 3 step drops

That's the one saving grace.

Against teams like SF and Seattle, they should be doing that anyway, even if the line was good. Teams with that many pass rushers just can't be blocked, you have to get creative.

I agree. I really wish we still had Schwartz, but oh well.

Right now it looks like this line needs to be blown up in general. Fisher is a part of the problem, but holy hell Stephenson and Allen really look bad. They were "supposed" to be good players and were "supposed" to have gotten better after spending the offseason at LeCharles Bentley's camp.

No way Any GM could fix this line this fast with so many bad pieces. It's like Pioli did nothing to fix this shit.

And they're both veterans. You shouldn't be getting beaten by strength in year 3. This is also year 2 in their positions in the system and Allen especially looks confused. He looks like Opie out there.

I'm dead serious. If I'm Reid I tell LDT to keep getting stronger and work on his technique as much as possible bc he's likely going to take Allen's job by week 5 at this rate.

Allen was just a bad draft pick, there's no other way to cut it.

I watched the kid play in college and he was a very good prospect. I think the change of position is part of the issue but lack of development is obvious as well.

I think a big part of Stephenson's problem is that he's not strong enough to play on the right side. He's spent most of his career on the left and he's obviously more comfortable there.

Naturally, if Fisher comes around, the situation improves immensely and immediately but there's more problems here than just him.

Head down without a balanced base, Star made him look like a complete rookie.

Am I missing something?

I ask this because the two players with the most motivation to play well, Houston, and Smith, also are the keys to the teams success.

highly motivated players, playing for contracts they both believe they deserve, usually show out.

that is, if you believe in that kind of thing.

Chris Owens looks better than Flowers in the slot. I feel a lot more comfortable with him bc he has more speed.

I don't think the weapons on offense are bad. DAT and Kelce will be very nice weapons and Charles will see more time at receiver IMO.

Defense is hard to tell. I think Catapano's success is the key to the front 7, but sadly he's sick.

I like Chris Owens too, as well as Marcus Cooper. Sadly, the Sean Smith/Ron Parker void is going to kill us

J'Marcus Webb is dirt cheap...shit he might be better than Fisher.

This.

Add in the fact that he's playing next to a 6th round rookie.
