I'm sad to report a fellow poster has been going through a tough run lately, health-wise. He never told me he'd wish to remain anonymous - however, I'm respecting the fact that he never asked, nor requested this thread's creation in any way. However he's a dear friend and one of the nicest people on this site.

Please just offer your support to him any way that you can, whether that's a simple good thought or a prayer or simply words of encouragement. He really legitimately needs this right now.

Thanks, Ryan. Starting a thread on my behalf was unexpected, but much appreciated.

I guess some may want to know what it is about, so here it is... I started experiencing sharp pains across my lower intestines and passing blood just before New Years Eve. I wasn't sure what was going on and got to a doc in March after trying a colon cleanse which didn't solve the problem. The passing blood was not an everyday thing, nor could I see any pattern in it, but I altered my diet to try and cover my bases, that is, cutting carbs immensely, gluten, and sugars, as well. I got scheduled for a colonoscopy in June after my return from a 7 week stay in Denmark (the doc said I shouldn't cancel my trip so I didn't), but the doc went on vacation, so I didn't get the plumber snake treatment until July 25th. A mass was found in my sigmoid colon and a biopsy showed cancer cells therein. Now I am facing consultations with surgeons and onocologists, scans, and surgery of some sort. That is about all I know at the moment.
