People keep confusing the defensive collapse with Alex's play.

The defense got worse and he got better, not the other way around.
And when guys like Romo and Ryan put up those numbers and lose, this place almost universally calls them losers. Never mind the times they put up those numbers and win, despite needing to score 35 a week.

But it's ok for Alex smith to come up short because, well...Chiefs.

Incredible double standard around this place when it comes to QBs.

He's also a year in said system. We all witnessed as the year went on how things progressed from the QB play standpoint.

We're also discussing him with 2 hall of famers, so that's a bit tougher.

Brees wasn't Brees when he was in SD, he was good, but not what he is now.

Yep. Only worse contract that immediately comes to mind is our overrated punter.

Sorry, but Brees and Rodgers DO need the team around them to perform. What is the game you are referring to where the Saints or Packers couldn't stop anyone, yet they still won? Seems both SB runs came with solid defensive efforts as well.

I can name playoff games where the Saints and Packers lost because they couldn't stop the other team. Ironically, one was against Smith.

Either way, Chiefs FO agrees with me this time. They just said that JC being on the team is more important than your boy, so I have that going for me.

Is Daniel getting $5M a year? I thought it was a three year $10M deal.

Chiefs fans like the chiefs. I'd imagine that's a league wide, sports wide thing.

Yeah, no.

Pretty much missing the point completely with that comment, and you're too smart for that shit.

Anything more than league minimum is too much, IMO.

That just shows your (not you specifically) ignorance as a fan.

Hard to take people like that seriously.

You're right. It was $5M guaranteed.

Funny that this mistake has essentially become the standard line. Good catch.

No, I get it.

But more important than trying to get your QB, is getting your QB. Doesn't matter where they came from.

If you want to argue Geno Smith or bridge water or whoever draft pick available when we picked would have further increased the talent level at QB over what they did, that's valid.

But they've continuously added talent to te QB position.
