If not the Game of Thrones scene, I'd probably have to go to Hugh Laurie as House in any number of scenes.

I agree that acting as well as writing and directing has gotten a lot better in recent years.
I think this is a function of the changing definitions of TV and movies. Movies are now about overseas profitability as much as anything. We had an indie wave in the late 90s, early aughts, but now it's about what Asia is going to bring in. That's why big budget comedies, especially wordy comedies, have fallen to big budget action. TV is now where prestige lies. TV is no longer that box with grainy images in the living room. It's what we view with rapt attention, whether on a big screen with superb resolution, or a personal device, in our own little world of our complete control, still in amazing resolution. But coming up with a 'best scene' requires some pondering, because television storytelling is long form, and actors aren't looking for Oscar bait clips. So much of the superb acting that comes to mind are beats and moments, lines delivered with razor sharp acuity in keeping with the character we've come to love [or hate] and know, glances, drawing of breath and glistening of eyes. But to contribute at this time, I'll fall back on something I've lauded often. All links embedding denied by request. http://youtu.be/GmVos4TDLSA

Aaron Paul has some really amazing scenes, as well. Probably on par with Cranston, and that's my bad for not mentioning that sooner.
