The aftershow was fun too. The knights come out in the lobby, sign autographs and no doubt get tons of chicks digits. Then they turn on the dance music and it was like a mini club for about 30 minutes.

Drove by it, MoF, I think it was right by where I bought my boots. But no way I was eating there on an expense account. If it's gonna be overpriced, it's gonna be good and it's gonna be respectable. Morton's it was!!!

I've been to Houston just once. But holy **** it was miserable.
Spend your time in Austin or San Antonio. Or travel on down to El Paso and shoot some illegals. Last edited by eDave; 07-03-2014 at 09:40 PM.. |

http://youtu.be/Kl8ajhu_e5Y?t=3m12s (dancing optional) The congress ave bats are great to see at sunset. (mid august is normally the peak viewing time but it varies) BatFest is actually August 23rd. Fun times. http://www.roadwayevents.com/RoadSta...?media1Id=1323 (bat costume optional but encouraged) Speaking of that weekend. The Austin Chronicle Hot Sauce Festival is the 24th. It's the world's largest hot sauce festival. http://www.austinchronicle.com/gyrobase/Market/HotSauce I'm not a fan of "tours" myself, but there are always brewery/brewpub tours going. http://austinbrewbus.wordpress.com/events-list/ http://www.craftbeeraustin.com/events/ Another daytime thing to do is to head to Zilker park, check out Barton Springs and stop by the Umlauf sculpture gardens. If you want to go full Austin-ish you can join a yoga session there! http://umlaufsculpture.org/program/ (bring your own mat) I doubt you have the time, but you can always do a scavenger hunt that will expose you to quite a few of the things on this list. http://www.urbanadventurequest.com/t...n/default.aspx One daytime thing outside of downtown (but not far outside) is Mt Bonnell. Nothing spectacular but it's nice. http://www.austinparks.org/our-parks.html?parkid=287 Ok last thing is live music. You should consider a show, especially at Stubbs. I would have said Antone's back in the day but that isn't an option but you could always do ACL Live if you can get tickets. Definitely fun but I'd go with Stubbs. http://stubbsaustin.com/concert-listings http://acl-live.com/calendar Ok, I'll post more in a sec when I get time. We still need to talk drinking! |

Gas Monkey Bar and grill is pretty good. A Little Pricey but they have bands and stuff come in.
http://gasmonkeybarngrill.com/ If you are in Dallas, Austin or Houston, I REALLY enjoyed eating here. This will be Very Pricey but they just keep bringing you meat untill you want to blow up. http://www.fogodechao.com/menu/dining-experience/ You can tour Jerry World in Dallas. I mean the Cowgirls suck but the stadium is pretty impressive. |

Yes, Houston is shit, unless you want to hit up clubs and party like a douchebag.
They do have some good food, though. Kiran's is a fantastic fine-dining Indian experience. I'm also partial to the Red Lion pub, which is amazing British food. They make some ****ing awesome chicken tikka masala quesadillas. |

I would say catch a Texas Rangers game....but I think they're on a road trip. Probably the best advice I could give a visitor to Texas is eat breakfast at Magnolia Cafe in Austin. The area between downtown Houston and Rice Univ is pretty cool. So long as you can tolerate pretentious white people.

Maybe the best meal of my life was in Austin at a place called Uchi.

If near downtown Houston, check out Discovery Green or the George R. Brown Convention Center. They're right across the street from each other and there's always something going on. The heat shouldn't bother u in the morning...
