Flowers had some of the best years of his career under now-Texans DC Romeo Crennel, and cornerback depth is needed in Houston. We wouldn't be surprised to see them reunite. Flowers turned 28 in February.

He lands in a spot where he can immediately rehab his value as a starting corner and then hit the open market again at age 29. Flowers put plenty of really good tape together from 2008-12, and will add borderline Pro Bowl shadow ability to a pass defense that ranked 29th in the league last year. With first-round corner Jason Verrett also added to incumbents Shareece Wright and Richard Marshall, this won't be quite the unit to pick on that it was last season.
He's a Charger now.

As I mentioned earlier, he played safety and dropped to cover the slot as their 3rd "corner". Much different responsibility from having to cover the perimeter like Cooper did.

We would have been fine if Sutton wasn't dumb enough to play Robinson as our 3rd corner after Flowers went down. Unfortunately, he was dumb enough to do that.

Well, I think he dropped off due to age and injury but nonetheless, he was just the odd man out. If he could still play the outside like he used too and didn't have 2 years of nagging injuries then perhaps you work something out.

Then again they may have tried to re-structure and his agent said **** off?

Flowers was the only CB on the Chiefs who could play outside, in the slot or shadow an opposing WR. His departure leaves a big hole in the secondary.
Could play outside and inside and playing well outside or inside are 2 far different things.

Flowers got handed by big receivers outside, and was constantly trailing in the slot in a press man scheme.

People insist he's not a good fit because a year of game tapes last year show that he wasn't. He's not worth that price tag to the current Chiefs.

All Carl cares about is keeping the stadium full. That's why he is keeping vets around to go 8-8. God forbid he would cut an underperforming player in order to resign a younger promising younger player (Houston) that would give us a better chance of winning in the long run.
