Off Season Lets Talk Guns
Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.
Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon? Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware? Part 2: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=293623 Last edited by Bearcat; 07-28-2015 at 06:06 PM.. |

Damn.
Good thing I don't own a 74. Sorry guys, I didn't think about import ammo. In fact, I haven't shot a factory round in over 3 years. |

I had a real nice 1954 Tula SKS that I dumped back in the late 90s. It went from $12.00 a hundred rounds to $25.00 over night. Not sure if I ever did know the reason for the hike.

Ohhh, they are denying Form 6 apps from importers on JUST steel core ammo.
Copper Jacket ammo is still being imported. This will just give ammo sellers a reason to jack up prices. |

Holy shit, it goes deeper.
A gun manufacturer (not sure which one) produced a pistol that shoots 5.45 bullets, and by doing so that opened the door for the government to stop the importation of the round. AK47 pistols have been around forever. I don't see how this is different. |

I own a AK-74, along with a couple crates of Bulgarian milsurp 5.45. Same "armor piercing" ammo as the Russian 5.45.
The whole reason I bought a 74 was because of the cheap ammo. I bought my crates (2,160 rounds) about a year ago for about $360 each.. Now that its been banned from importation, those same crates are going for $400-$500 from online vendors. Still cheap compared to .223/5.56, but not as cheap as it used to be. |

There's mixed reviews but the only two I have personal experience with were tack drivers.

I have the Para black ops 1911. That gun is a badass. Don't know why some douchers don't include Para when they reference elite 1911's (kimber, Springfield).

I purchased the VEPR 12. It looks like it is what people want their Saiga 12's to be after spending 100s on mods.
My brother's Saiga has everything you can imagine on it, adjustable gas, reliability kit, rails, stock, etc and it's not very reliable. I know 3 other people that have the same problems with them. This VEPR will hopefully be different. |
