Why do black people cross the street so slow?
I live in north Scottsdale/PV area which is not diverse. I am the first to admit I don't get inner city. On several recent occasions I've had to drive down town for business. Every time I have, including today, I've had to sit at a light waiting to turn because a black person deliberately walked as slow through the intersection as they could. Other people walked by them at a normal pace but they just sauntered. On one occasion the person looked at my car and actually slowed down even more.
What the hell? Am I imagining this or is this some kind of thing?

Diction, dialect and all that jazz is real shit. You might have just as much trouble understanding conversation between whites in the Deep South or the north east so why is it more of a joke when it comes to them but more spiteful when it comes to black people?

My question was absolutely serious and there was no spite involved in that. I know it probably gets lost in the hyperbole of this "racism" thread, but I REALLY did want to know about that. It IS something I have noticed on a regular basis. I seem to notice the "axe" pronunciation in individuals whose speech patterns otherwise would not lead me to believe they would use that pronounciation.

This is the reason I didn't actually start the "ask a black guy" thread. As white guy, there are things I actually don't understand and I'd like to know, but everyone gets too goofy (yeah, I'm calling the kettle black on that one) or overly racist or butthurt and angry.
