We've already cut Robinson and re-signed Gafford.

Why aren't more people doing this kind of mock draft thread? They are so interesting to read. Great work, RunKC.
That said, some thoughts: 1. No need to list signing Gafford or cutting Robinson; that's already done. 2. That contract seems small for Berry. 3. I don't like either of those restructurings at this point. I don't think the Chiefs restructure Bowe one damn season after his huge payday, and Ithink the Chiefs will dump Hali in 2015 -- so restructuring him would just load us with more dead money. 4. Schwartz's deal is huge -- over $5m a year? 5. Your safety depth chart is wackadoo. You bring back Abdullah *and* sign Jenkins, with a 4th rounder you just drafted last year? Too many cooks in the kitchen. As far a the draft is concerned: 1. Personal preference alert: I am really bearish on Lee. Lots of dropped passes, really lackluster season in 2013, and a plethora of other WRs I'd rather have. 2. I am apparently in the sharp minority here that does not believe ILB is worthy of such a high pick. I'd rather this pick be TE, CB, or OLB... 3. I really like all your other picks. I question if Henderson will be there, but these picks are all realistic and really, really good. |

I think Brandin Cooks is going to be a star and I'd take him over Lee.
If Beckham is gone, which I think he will be, Cooks is who I want.

It was hard for me to choose between those two. I would not mind Cooks at all though. I'm a fan.

Big, fast, he's a faster Dwayne Bowe if Dwayne Bowe could run better routes. I've said it before, but I was reading somewhere where one NFL scout thought that Moncrief had the chance to be the best WR out of this entire draft when it was all said and done. I think Cooks is a pure slot guy. He doesn't seem to have the smoothness of Beckham or his ability to highpoint the ball. And at this point, I think I'd pick Texas' Mike Davis before Marquis Lee. Lee, while talented, didn't look to be the same guy without Robert Woods opposite of him. |

Shun,
We have a different opinion on the ILB spot. I agree with TBG about the importance of that position and feel that we could really use an upgrade. As for S, I just don't know with Commings. Is this guy injury prone? Can we count on him to be available next year? Oh, and just to reiterate, I want EJ Gaines on this football team. He's one of my favorite players in this draft. With our situation at CB, we could really use this guy.

Having those two guys out there for three downs would be huge. Don't be surprised if they go that route on draft day. |

why take a guy limited to only being a slot guy/flank? why not take a guy who can develop into the #1 role and take bowes spot? Also I looked at the league leaders in receiving yards a while back and I think only 4 guys in the top 20 were shorter than 6'. I do still love lee though. he showed us what he can do when all cylinders are firing. he's young, he's overcome a lot in his life. so we know he can overcome a bad season. he was dealt a pretty rough hand last season. lost the woods as you said, but was also injured most of the season, while playing with a new qb who was a RS freshman. And then you have to factor in teams scheming against him. I do think taking davis over him is pretty silly... but I would still take moncrief or Matthews. n |

I don't think you take a chance on Moncrief in the 1st in this draft. Just way too inconsistent hands. Matthews I could see happening. I don't like Cooks in the 1st either, he's a complementary guy like Welker/Austin/Cruz etc. Some team may be comfortable with taking him but I think the value is a lot better with a guy like Jones/Ellington in the 3rd-5th round.
I would take Cooks over Lee though. |

IDK How Henderson could fall to the 6th round. Too many OL coaches around the league would be jumping out of their seat saying "I CAN FIX THAT. I can make him special."
