Yeah. Main reason is I already have it, it's paid for, and I know it's history. It's pretty scratched up and well used, and my kid will need four wheel drive because my driveway is steep and about 250 yards long. Any snow or ice and it's a bitch

I have a Ram-rides real well with the coil springs. I know you are looking at Ford, but I love my Ram.

Only looking at Ford because I had one before the Tacoma. Put 150k miles on it and never had any issues. Traded it in because gas was over $4 per gallon at the time and it got 14 mpg. I use my trucks for hunting, fishing trips, hauling shit around, moving brush and firewood, dirt for the garden, lumber, etc. I've always had a truck.

https://www.carfax.com/vehicle/4S2DM58W514344322 Do you want an excuse to buy a new truck, pay the property tax, insurance, and just wait til you see what your kids insurance will be.... If you can write off 74% this year for a business, buy one before the first. Oh but your Ford does not qualify... https://www.marketwatch.com/story/he...kup-2016-05-17

I have a 2013 and I use it very similar to do what you are talking about. It's the EcoBoost and it works very very well.
The back seat is huge and gives you all kinds of interior storage space. I have the lift hardtop that came with it and it is key the same as the ignition also very handy. I have the Platinum which has every Bell and whistle Under the Sun. I highly recommend the retractable running boards. It does not require premium. |

I don't care what year. As long as it is Ford and has diesel engine, I'm all in.

You won’t get better traction than having the motor sitting on top of the drive wheels. Also the lower center of gravity will be better if things get hairy. All the kids these days want pickups. But I lived in the country with a steep driveway that was a half mile long. And I drove it all over the farm. Never once did I get it stuck. Not even in deep snow. I wouldn’t say anything but you can buy sooooo much more car for the money than a pickup especially Toyota’s. I’d bet you could get him a really decent car and trade the pickup in and be money ahead.
